You'll find that the shipping prices from the US have increased fairly significantly about a year ago, but many other countries have quite reasonable shipping fees.
Many of the artisans are in the US, and due to the limited number of artisan keycaps made, they are mostly shipped from the US.
Hot Keys Project is one notable exception.
And
[CTRL]ALT organise many of their GBs from the UK.
Also if you have a look through the
vendor forum list, many of those are in Europe or Asia, which generally have cheaper shipping to most parts of the world.
