I might be willing to try again, hopefully the color I want would get made this time.

Last time I wanted purple in a hhkb layout. I got silver.
Are we going to get what we want this time?
Are these hard anodized?
I have a question,
for those who has ordered the plates before, I'd like to know. Does the red in the red plate look something like this?Show Image(http://webwit.nl/input/keycaps/redalert/1.jpg)Show Image(http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=49892.0;attach=39872;image)
I'm looking for a nice bright chilli red kind of thing.
And for the plain silver one, is it a mirrored finish/highly reflective or is it something like this?Show Image(http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg&size=l&tid=12841613)
Pardon me, it's abit hard for me to figure out from the pictures he posted.
Thanks in advance for your help
These look great. I like the fact that the new design supports universal layout.
How thick are these? 1.5mm?

Bear in mind, this plate doesn't compatible with poker2.
However, it is really good imo for most custom 60% pcb like 38GT, GH60, FaceU/W, ThumbU etc. :thumb:

That's like the majority of 60% keyboards out there lol
What about KBT pure??

I think he was talking about the LEDS near the spacebar on the Poker2 pcb that's why it is not compatible.

I think i see what you mean. It's like how the plates that are used to demo the colours have that round slot near the spacebar stab but this universal one doesn't right?
Any idea if it will work for the KBT pure? I havent had the tools to remove my keycaps to see where the LEDs are though..
sorry for that, ... hope there will not be any problems this timeI might be willing to try again, hopefully the color I want would get made this time.

it's my fault.... hope it works now.
Has anyone been able to order one yet? I just tried and it won't let me checkout because it's "Out of Stock".

Does that mean I won't be able to order anymore? :(
Reason why I'm not able to order is cause I will be changing address within 3 weeks, so depending on when they ship, I might have to change my address before it gets sent out.
Let me know if I should place my order now and change the address midway or if I'm still able to order this in 3 weeks time

I'm just curious, the plate in the 1st picture looks different than the plate in the last picture. Is there any reason for this? which plate are we getting?
By "Universal" does this mean it supports both the poker2 layout and the pure layout? I still can't decide which layout to go with for the gh60.
And if only they had white :/QuoteShow Image(http://imsto.cn/image/data/newplate1.JPG)Show Image(http://imsto.cn/image/data/plate8.JPG)

Hmm, im unfamiliar with universal layouts.
From what I understand the stabilizers have to be pcb mounted while the switches are plate mounted?
And since the holes were enlarged to accommodate different layouts, would this have any effect on the stability of the switches that are placed in these locations? (Enter, shift keys etc)
Main question: Should I get PCB mounted or plate mounted switches?

To answer your main question, depends on what your PCB supports. If your pcb supports pcb mounted switches then you can install pcb mounted switches along with this plate for added stability, otherwise just get the plate mounted switches. I have a universal plate which I bought from sprit's GB and I use plate mounted switches on 1x1 keys and pcb mounted switches on larger keys for added support since the holes for those area are too large for the switches. This plate might be different but I'm not sure.

I assume this GB is closed now?
Whre did you see it at?
I don't see it on the site nor did I get an Email.
But then again I ordered quite late

I ordered end May. It's on the order history page - status changed from "GB Participated" to "Processing"
Something in the mail today...So unexpected haha - my order is still stated as "Processing"Show Image(https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8Bv-gS3XvUQ/U6UIPza1xWI/AAAAAAAABYQ/qoQH6k6Yvxg/w1026-h577-no/DSC_0172.JPG)

Nice!
I see you've got your switches all ready there in the background, too :D
Can't wait for mine to arrive. I'm going to add it to my KBT Pure Limited and mod the switches while I'm at it. They're already trampoline and latex modded, going to convert them from Browns to ErgoClears. Then I just have to wait for the GMK Dolch GB to complete.... ahh....
I'm on a kbt pure too
One thing im scared of is whether it there will be a space for the caps lock LED on the plate
The one to the right of it. Basically the one that activates when you toggle the caps switch.
Another thing I'm concerned about is the SMD LEDs for the fn + space. If used with a high profile case, they will be blocked by the plate and hence cannot be seen anymore
EDIT: If you look at the picture of the plate received or the picture of the plate on the first post and look at the insides of a KBT pure posted on the first page (scroll down), notice the caps lock switch and notice that the left part ends just a little bit beyond the tab key which is exactly where the caps lock key for the pure but without the space for the LED beside it, as you can also see in the picture

It looks like the plate supports off-center caps lock, which may leave enough room. Every plate that I've ever used (https://www.flickr.com/photos/compactkey/13707329914/in/set-72157643617351954) has either had a notch, or a hole cut out for the LED, so I supposed I've never thought about it. However, I'm using the plate on a Pure as well, so I'm curious too.
As for the SMD LEDs, those may be obstructed since the Pure was never designed for a plate. My Poker X is that way. I can still see the lights, but they are a bit muted.
Looking at the pic kakakowie posted, it doesn't look like there's a hole for the off-switch caps lock led. It is understandable because I can't think of any other 60% board that has a dedicated caps lock led like Pure.
While it's true that this plate supports both caps lock configurations, the extra space for the off-centered caps lock is on the left so it won't help with the LED.
For our Pures we'll have to drill a hole for the LED ourselves, move the LED to the left of the switch or just remove the Caps Lock LED. I don't use Caps Lock, but I like to know when it's on, so I'll drill a hole for it. It shouldn't be hard since it's an aluminium plate and also should not need any extra protection from corrosion for the drilled edges.
Moving the LED will require you to solder wires to the legs and mount it somehow just to the left of the switch so it shines through the off-centre mount area.
The surface mount LED's will glow through a little, but won't be as bright as before. I actually like this as I found them to glare without any covering. I put some plastic over them to diffuse the light already.
I can't wait to see how this plate looks mounted on the Pure with thick dark caps and LED's on full... background glow should be quite nice.
I got my plate!
Fits my Pure just fine, but it's a little hard to type on..... ;)

I'll be drilling a hole for the Caps Lock LED and it also looks like I'll need to file either the top or bottom edge a little to get it to fit the Pure Limited case. It's about 0.5mm too tall.
Will be a fair bit of work, desoldering all the LED's and switches, but I reckon it'll be worth it.
Can't order a plate :( website won't let me pick a color option. What's going on?
Anyone know what size the holes at the edges of the plate are meant to be? The ones for the pcb mounting screws. I can't seem to fit my screw heads through them :(
Nice. If i sent you mine could you drill it for me too? I don't have easy access to tools like this here in singapore. And even if I did, finding a spot to drill the plate is going to be difficult
So this wont work on a poker just because of the stabilisers?

In case anyone was wondering, here's the green plate in comparison with green TEX case (which has more 'true' green color)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/c0814eT.jpg)
I can easily fit those screws with big head through the hole. Not sure if they are standard size or not.
Here are a few pics...

Neat little work on the hole there.
Are the change in stabs your own doing or is it necessary for the plate installation?
So I got my plate today, silver colour.LED probably wouldnt be that hard to remove. Just desolder it and then cut off the plastic standoff thing.
It looks really good actually. Really neat and feels really good too even though it's aluminium. I can definitely flex it with my hands.
The edges look really cleanly cut and there are a few minor scratches on the surfaces which can only be seen if you look really closely and some stains which I can't really remove but all in all I'm quite happy with it.
Also, I emailed Imsto if it was possible to drill a hole for the caps lock LED for the pure and he said it was possible but there would be complications but I still asked if I could have it done. I didn't get a definite reply but over here it seems like he didn't do it.
Now I need to find a way to either drill a hole or remove the caps lock LED somehow...

Is this plate available somewhere?
I'm planning to build a 60% iso, using a gon or a winkeyless pcb.
What type of stabilizers do these plates support? Gon's site states it does not support plate mounted stabs, but it does not explain what type it does.

I think it just support the Cherry PCB mounted stabs.
It's incredible that this is the only 60% iso plate with cutouts, and yet it isn't available... The alternative would be building my own plate: cutting and shipping to italy costs like half poker keyboard :-(
Since IMSTO doesn't have any plates for sale at the moment, you might be interested in a GB that is going on right now for ISO Stainless Steel (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=71034.0). Shipping out of Norway.
