Could never understand why HHKB-S is worth $190 more than the original HHKB, since the variable RF and slient RF have the same price.

BTW, are those blank colored keycaps from ClackFactory? Those are even sicker than the colored RF keycaps.

Omg, haha. This looks awesome! That's what my friend wants to do. But he wants to do it with black keys and pink letters.. which probably makes it like 100x more difficult to find. I'm gonna show him your pics to convince him to do white and black instead. xD

I like the Topres a lot.  I've had a variable 86U for a while now, but the HHKB feels different than that.  I can understand why people say the HHKB is bouncier, though I think it's just the stiffer 45g switches.  Hard to say though since I haven't ever tried a 45g uniform Realforce.  I have spent some time with a 55g, and I feel like the HHKB feels closer to that than to the variable.
