Has anyone done a video comparison between two identical F keyboards, one with and one without floss mod?

If so link please?

Rofl yeah. You're totally right and I'm an idiot. Let me try this again.

Edit: I can't find anything comparing two Fs so hopefully that video of the SSK gives you enough of an idea. Also I found this video from Salcan

is it just the camera usb adapter?

OTG cable, not sure if it is the camera usb adapter. You can get otg cables for like $4 on amazon

If you want something sleeker, I think pexon is making all in one cables for keyboards on tablets now? A bit pricer though I imagine.

by the looks of it, yeah, it's just a cable adapter. and everything amazon has looks like it has terribad reviews.

iPad is a little more complicated because it doesn't have standard USB ports. The camera adapter kit should work just fine.

Thanks CPT.  I am planning on doing the floss mod to at least my XT, probably going to do the AT as well when I get it mounted into the new keyboard tray.  I do keep hearing that the floss mod has a more profound effect on F's than it does on M's and was curious to an idea on what to expect.

3) EK had them made for their store/business. There was no GB.

Small correction in case anyone cares-- I believe the caps came from Leopold, who dealt directly with GMK.

I am following this guide for when I solder in LEDs for my bface, and right now I am picking up some more LEDs, and I came upon a question that I couldn't find googling, maybe my search was poorly worded, but I am using 820 ohm resistors for the pink LEDs, and I would like to have caps lock as a different color, maybe green or red, or even blue. Well, I hade them pre-soldered and gorgot to ask for the caps lock resistor soldered at a different ohm rating, and I was wondering what would happen if I put a red led in with a 820  ohm resistor?

– 820 Ohm : generally used for white/pink LED
– 910 Ohm : generally used for blue/green LED
– 1300 Ohm : generally used for red/yellow/orange LED

I think worst case scenario is that the LED is just dim. Plug it in and find out?

That's what I thought would happen, and it's not here yet, or else I would have tried it with a button cell.

I need to order the red LEDs any way, so I might buy a throughole resistor for all three of those ratings and test.

Where should I post to find someone (preferably in Europe) who can assemble my Duck Octagon for me when it comes in a few weeks? I was going to get margo to do it but it seems he isn't taking any more builds for the foreseeable future :(.

Signature is located in Sweden and would probably be willing to do it for you, going by his forum posts and our short convo. i really want to do it myself as well, but i'm getting cold feet thinking about having to choose a decent solder kit, and the many possible things that can go wrong during the process (zero prior experience here)

Maybe just make a thread in keyboards? I don't know if Signature does assembly.

Is there a suggested type or brand of floss for floss modding an F?

I use Oral-B "super" floss, you want the fluffy part in the middle.

I recommend putting the floss into the spring, then cutting off the top at the right level. Shorter floss does less sound deadening, perhaps feels incrementally lighter, but it has to be well over the midpoint, because that is where the spring buckles!

You can get about half a dozen cuts out of each length of floss.

“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

For dyesub, I believe you just send them an svg, and they use that.

Here is what is available in double shot, although you have to pay extra for each legend you use (per keycap), and I think that fee ranges from $25/ea to $45/ea.

Is there Alps 60% PCB fits for AEK layout? If it is compatible to poker case dimension it'd be appreciated.

I'm working on Alps 60% from AEK or AEK II cut mounting plate.

Thanks.

Does anyone remember how much the Bro Caps Stumps went for on the New Years sale? It was one price for a random cap. I got invoiced for several other caps from a previous sale, so I cannot see the specific price, but maybe someone who got only the random cap can let me know? Cheers!

Thanks. Interesting project, I'll watch and learn.

AEK has pretty weird bottom row like; 1.5, 1.25, 1.5 space 1.5, 1.25, 1.5
It seems I'll have to design my own PCB supports AEK layout and fits in Poker case.

Hi! Posting for a friend who asked me this question and I didn't know the answer despite googling.

What are these two keys beside the spacebar? The keys with the looping icon. He bought this Century Black Pawn while visiting in Japan.

The keys with the looping icon.

Those are the "circle jerk" keys.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Hi! Posting for a friend who asked me this question and I didn't know the answer despite googling.

What are these two keys beside the spacebar? The keys with the looping icon. He bought this Century Black Pawn while visiting in Japan.

I believe it's so you can switch between the different Japanese character input types? But I'm not 100%.

They are 無変換(muhenkan/no conversion) and 変換(henkan/conversion) key. Probaby they emit scan code 0x8a and 0x8b acording to USB spec, though I never have used JIS keyboard and I can't explain how to use them.

The functions of those keys are depend on the keyboard, different keyboard have different function even though they are all jis layout.  In the jis layout keyboard that I have used in the past, the left one is used to input Hiragana, and the right one is used to transfer Hiragana into Kanji.  And they have no function while inputting English.  But the function really depends on the keyboard.

So I have this AT I converted with an xwhatsit, and it is having a minor issue that doesn't prevent me from using it but doesn't feel right.  The swithes feel like there is boat loads of extra friction in them.  They are still smooth just very tight.  They still actuate, though I had one keystroke physically stick in the down position.  It is the entire board and they all feel the same and sound right.  Any ideas?

Sounds like the plates are tightened down too much or they're not properly aligned. I had a similar issue when I rebuilt my 6019284 incorrectly.

Thanks, I will look into that.

On this note, is there anywhere that is safe or ok to lube via krytox on an AT modded to ANSI with M caps?
