My last day of school is tomorrow, sans graduation next week, so I'll start sorting the kits, invoicing for the new spacebars, and picturing probably Wednesday. Working on moving my Grandfather into a new house this week too, so progress might seem slow at first.

Dear sweet Jesus, I just started going through all the keys, and SP botched this all to hell. I don't have any addon kits, I'm short 50 backspaces, 50 |\s, 50 enters, and 50 ISO shifts. I'm going to have to delay this whole buy until this is fixed. i just emailed her. I'll keep you guys updated.

Has anyone ever considered any alternative companies to SP? Do they even exist? I know of one, Fentek Industries. I ordered some caps from them before. Seemed to be pretty good quality, although they also had spur marks on the front face of the keycap =/

I think Fentek has been looked at in the past, but there was some reason we keep coming back to SP. I think it was cheaper, or Fentek doesn't offer the same level of customization or something. Melissa said they should be shipped out by the 21st, and she'd overnight them. At least this way I won't have to double ship a lot of you.

No, there isnt any alternate company because most of them source from SP anyways. Other companies don't have the machinery or capability to make customized keycaps like SP does. For now, our options are SP, imsto, or qtan really.

Fentek goes to sp for doubleshots. The uk company (can't remember name) is limited to what they can do.

The alternate manufacturer thing comes up at least once a month around here.  We've looked.  For doubleshots, the only feasible option is SP.

We can't even adopt a new legend set from SP without members dropping out because $45 per legend is too high.

Anyone have an extra base kit they'd be willing to part with? I just picked up a Wyse PCE board and could use a Moogle kit to complete it.

Thanks in advance.

Just use any camera.  We just want pics so we can see the keycaps, not a master piece from Ansel Adams.  Use the camera on your phone, even if this is your phone:

To clarify: I love Black and White pictures as much as the next guy, but I'm also used to seeing colour. I'm amazed at how well my pictures come out when I go outside with a piece of white paper. Even the cellphone images are nice.

In some way, it is kind of fitting to have the very old school Windows logo to go with the very old school Wyse keycaps.  Just that the old logo is unexpected.  Why would SP choose this old logo for this order when all the previous GH orders used the newer Windows logo?  That makes no sense at all.  Does SP roll the dice before they start each order to see which random part of the order they want to mess with?

Melissa actually asked me if I wanted old or new, and I said to go with the old one, since the WYSE kit is old. Made sense to me at the time. I'm glad there's not enormous backlash. In retrospect, I probably should have asked you guys, but I wanted to get the dang order placed after all the enormous delays.

Melissa just sent me an email that she's shipping out the spacebars and missing keys today, so I will hopefully have them tomorrow. They will all be shipped out by the 27th, because I leave for San Antonio for a couple days then. If you haven't payed your space bar invoice by then, you're not getting them until you do, and if I've already shipped your original order, you're going to have to pay for shipping.

[STRIKE]Alright, I am officially going to avoid dealing with SP as much as possible after this. I sorted all the addon kits, and they sent me 49 controls, alts, and menus instead of 50. They did get the correct number of spacebars though, so if there's someone who needs a 7 unit spacebar, PM me. If one of you guys has two addon orders and only needs one, PM me, and I'll refund you for one, since I only have the keys to make 24 sets.[/STRIKE]

EDIT: I'M STUPID

Risen from the dead for a model F.

Wyse buy colors were GSY for the dark grey, GBA for the light grey, and BBI for the fonts.
