Question regarding PS/2 - USB adapter and keyRelease event
« on: Mon, 21 November 2016, 02:37:59 »
Hello, this is my first post on geekhack ;-) Recently I bought a Cherry G84-4101 SPAUS (PS/2) modded by the seller to house a built-in PS/2 - USB converter board. Everything is fine until I encountered an issue with key repeating. Specifically this:

1. Press two keys simutaneously. For instance 'a' and 's';
2. Release 's', keep 'a' depressed.

The moment 's' is released, the keyboard emits two keyRelease events, one for 's', another for 'a', although 'a' is still depressed.

This can be observed through xev, or play an FPS game which requires player to jump while walking. i.e. press space bar while keeping 'w' depressed.

Since my other G84-4100 LCMUS (USB) does not suffer from this problem, my suspicion goes to the PS/2 - USB converter board.

Anyone share some insight on this issue? Is this a problem with all PS/2-USB adapters or it's just this one? ...or it's a problem with the microcontroller of this keyboard?

Thanks!
