I have no idea what this is, or what it is for, or if it can even interface with a modern computer, but it is certainly cool:

Wow, those keycaps are gorgeous. I'd love to have it just for that.

Agreed. The listing also claims it is metal though too, so if somebody can figure out how to wire it up to a modern controller, they could have a pretty chunky keyboard.

They don't look like the usual Zenith SKCCs. More like Hi-Teks or Stackpoles.
Note that it's not a metal case, just a metal cover. The bottom is open.

Yeah, seems like it was probably mounted somewhere, like on an old terminal or something.

I agree. I'm a sucker for Zenith to begin with, since we always had their tvs growing up. I was pretty tempted to bid on it myself, but I resisted the urge.

You guess is as good as mine. The listing said it was made by Zenith. The pictures of the bottom of it suggested that it was originally mounted somewhere, maybe in a terminal of some kind. When you start going as far back as the 1970s, there aren't always answers to every question. You might have to find somebody that worked for Zenith back then, or start digging through ancient catalogue scans or something, and that still might not give you much to go on.
