I finally present to you all, GMK SLASHER!
I first posted this in 2016, back when keyset ICs weren't quite as elaborate, and professional as they are now. It was an idea birthed out of a love for 80's slasher movies, and I'm reviving it now for the same reason. I've had the support of quite a few amazing people to get this to where it is now.

F and J in base are rendered as normal in the base kit and the first two keyboard renders, but are scooped in the second two keyboard renders. Just curious which it is.

Only bars, no scoops sorry
They're older renders done by King, and I still liked them quite a bit.

Wikimedia Commons notes that it’s still considered a protected trademark in some jurisdictions even though they also note that it’s supposed to be in the public domain. So it probably depends on which jurisdictions would enforce a trademark claim should the owners of the VHS mark even care to make an issue of it.

R5 had been a consideration for me recently, so a Google form for this could go up in the future.

The novelty kit is dope i really like it.
Just one concern. So having f13, r4 caps, extra B, iso uk in basekit ok, no problem even if i don't use those keys; but no scoops?! Sorry but i never bother on keyset compat but this is a bummer to me.
The form is just for you then man, I've got a poll going in it for just this. Put your vote in for scoops my man!

So currently the base kit has non-homing F & J? Wow, this is VERY rare for GMK sets. I looked at more than 20 GMK sets last year (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=100820.msg2803387#msg2803387) and not one had non-homing.
The current scooped/bared poll doesn't address the popularity of non-homing. A poll with all four options would be interesting: "What F & J profile would you use? Non-homing, Scooped, Bared, or Nub."

Could you do convincing enough artwork to portray a VHS tape? Maybe the "Rated R" icon? I remember summers in the 80s watching slasher films all day on VHS. Keep the dream alive!

I've been following this set for years and I'm so freaking stoked for this to finally be in an official IC. I'm definitely in for a set and one of Hipster's prints if I can snag one. This might also be the first desk mat I purchase! A little sad to see that the original chainsaw Enter key novelty didn't make the cut, but amazing work nonetheless!
Unfortunately the chainsaw didn't meet GMK standard, and after trying for about a month to rework it I decided it was best to drop it.
If all goes well with this set, and I really hope it does, I plan to run a round 2 one day with all of the movies and novelties I missed :thumb:

I wouldn't be so sure cuz for example on GMK Polybius they are gonna use UV-Print for mods

just an idea about the kitting: I'd just split the Slasher kit in two - red spacebars moved to the spacebars kit and red accents moved to the novelties kit.
people with no interest in the spacebars can just buy the novelties+accents, leaving the spacebars for the users of less common layouts.
just a thought. set looks awesome as is!

Would love to get some feedback from to see what drives the motivation to stick with GMK. I know their color matching is set to a high standard but I feel that it must be pretty similar with the right vendor producing sets in PBT, no? If designers feel that the quality of PBT sets are slightly under that of GMK, maybe if more designers work with them it will help them improve? Again, just wanted to get honest feedback, not ****-talking.
