the legends go 321 instead of 123 because the file being used is very rough. there are other issues in it too, like the legends being the wrong sizes and in the wrong places, such as the caps key saying CapsLock instead of Caps Lock
alright here we go (sorry if this is a lot of stuff)Thank you for the correction and suggestions! I'm working on it.
things to change: mono numpad (no arrow and page up page down stuff) (optional), fix numpad plus, more stuff in base kit (7u spacebar, split backspace, 65% support, some iso support (iso enter, split left shift, r4 ><, r3 \|), no lock in scroll lock and num lock(optional), prtsc to print(optional), get some ral colors or use gmk stock color, and read this https://uniqey.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360008759900-Designing-a-Custom-GMK-Keycap-Set-Guide-
optionals are if you want to go for a retro-ish type of set which is what you're going for so it should be fine

I for one like it. I wouldn't think these colors would do it for me but the do.Thanks!
Renders are a good start, shows effort. I would go through current and past IC to get a sense of what you need. Your base kit is missing some very popular form factors (65% for example).
Look at gmk nuclear data, pono, beta, etc.
Keep it up!

Love the concept and the novelties. Not a fan of yellow on red. Thanks I will try to mix match the alphas.
The colors are very... polarizing. I don't know how well they work togetherI guess the yellow on red on alphas won't work with blue mod.
This is a good start kitting needs some work but I am a fan of the color way! I would check out other gmk kits to fix your kitting and please make sure you color match this I don’t know if you know about ral or Pantone, but uniqey has a good guide for designing for gmk sets. Thanks! I will try RAL and GMK stock to ensure it match color.
I really like the novelties and the overall theme of the set :thumb:Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
I really like it especially the red alphas! Thanks, I have changed it using RAL colors in the base kit section to ensure colors match. Therefore, colors should be more accurate.
I like this. Reminds me of Hulk Hogan vibes lol. Thanks :)
Friendly reminder that the 2 3 4 number keys for UK ISO are not mod, but alpha coloured. So they should be red/white, whatever you're going for. Also, the blank cap should have the legending (`¬).Thanks for the reminder and suggestion. I will try the color that you suggested for the alphas.
The inspiration is pretty cool, I must say. Though I'm not a massive fan of the red or white alphas proposed. I think a light grey with a blue-ish hue (similar to 8008) would go a long way into making this set make sense.
GL!
this set would be the perfect match for the lil' tyke switches! love it :DThanks, I'm glad you love it!
I feel like the red alphas really made this set unique. Switching to white alphas makes it look more like GMK Classic Red, which is boring, and doesn't really fit with the original theme. The fact that the color combo was polarizing was a strength, not a weakness.I agrée. I think white alphas should be another kit with red as the base. I really do like the red.
Reminds me of the colors associated with the new Rainbow Six Siege event. I'm a bit ashamed it was the first thing I jumped to when I have a whole box of (replica) tin robots... I probably just forget I owned them.Wow, that's cool. Bring back lots of childhood memories.

Don't worry the red alphas will stay here as the main theme :). I just try different alphas combination as a separate kit.I feel like the red alphas really made this set unique. Uhhhh... why are the R1 UK-specific alphas mod-colored? What's with that blank (that I suspect is actually meant to be `¬¦)? R3 ;@ should be '@ instead.Sorry, I didn't know what front to use so I have just updated it.
Shouldn't be the R3/R4 nav keys be mod-colored instead of alpha-colored?
Also, including UK keys doesn't play well with using ¦ for |.
Now THIS is the set Ive been waiting for! Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I'll consider it :)
Looks amazing, clean, and simple.
40’s Support would be amazing since it’s a more playful colorway, but usually that’s very rare to incorporate so I’m not holding my breath. Lol
You could take a look at GMK Umbra, that set covered a lot with the base kit. Thanks for the suggestion. I will take a look at it.
The only thing Umbra did wrong was include one set of plain (neither barred nor scooped) f and j keys alongside the set with homing bars instead of a set with scooped keys and a set with bars.I have just updated the base kit and I think that's all the caps. So, I think I have to specify which is scooped or barred.
I like the colors, it can be different things to different people whether it's vintage science fiction illustrations, tin toys, LEGOs or even the little tykes car...
some 40's support on this would be lovely mate. Love the theme! Thanks! I will consider it.
i checked back on the ic after a while and woah you have a cool render now. although the corner of the deskmat s are sharp and the deskmat looks flat everything else is really good in that render. the kit and case renders feel... unreal. they look like they're rendered in eevee which is a rendering engine in blender btw. eevee is good for certain situations but i don't think you should use it for ic.i recommend cycles although it may be slow and grainy you can tweak some stuff and make it pretty good without taking too long. if you wanna know more on how to switch render engine and how to make the render faster without losing too much detail dm me.Thanks! I have just updated thicker font for the numpad mods.
list of other stuff that needs fixing:
- numpad mods (why is the font so thin)
- all the case renders (except for the last four) have backgrounds that feel kinda weak and make it feel like it's floating in an abyss rather than sitting on a surface
renders are pretty inconsistent. render at the top looks really good then the next render has the dakota felder file's keycaps that look kinda glossy and stuff and then the rest are in eevee and are consistent but consistently bad.
airry for the rant on render engines glwic :thumb:
Your mod-colored `~ key should be R1 :)Thanks for the reminder! I have fixed the mod-colored `~. Also, I will take a look at the spacebars kit.
The second pair of 1u Ctrl and Alt keys is unnecessary and can be removed.
I also think you went a bit overboard with the ISO keys. I recommend making it lighter and offering either basic ISO alphas (just R3 \|, R4 <>), or ISO-UK alphas without sublegends (just R1 `¬, 2", 3£; R3 '@, #~; R4 \|).
As for the spacebars kit, the 1.75u space is useless since there is no 40s support in the set. I recommend replacing this key with a 1u space.
Open thoughts on the novelties- I like the atomic looking symbol (triple shot?), but the robot heads don't quite do it for me. Maybe the design on them is too complex. I'd like to see some more symbols/icons, such as a space force kind of thing or a good vs evil themed robots (blue vs red maybe??)Thanks for reminding me about the novelties. I have fixed the atom because GMK only makes double shot keycaps.
And since this makes me think of Lego so much, I'd love to see a throwback to the old decorated brick designs such as a mini keyboard or control panel, which fits the theme pretty well.
Not sure this fits your vision but I just wanted to give food for thought ;D
You're just one white away from GMK GundamIt will be offered as a different set. I want to expand the set more that's the reason why I removed the "white armor kit" which was white alphas kit

I have updated some new renders. Also, I would like to share some new novelties which I have made recently:

I'm waiting for GMK to confirm if these are printable or not.
Additionally, I want to add some R1 novelties:
