Design

This is a very simple set that I was inspired to do after seeing ARSLOCK and hiney's Classic Blue. I've run it by them and they are both okay with me bringing this set to IC. The set will feature two stock GMK colors: P3 (red) and CP (white).

This is an easy one for me to get in on. One thing I would like to see if it doesn't mess with pricing too much is an F13 keycap. Otherwise, I think the kits are setup nicely.

I knew it was the right idea to be lazy and let someone else run this. I've been too lazy but I have been waiting over a year for someone to actually start running classic sets again. Also I wouldn't buy the red alphas kit, but it would be nice to have the option for everyone else.

I think "Classic Red" is a better name that "RoW", which is what I would have come up with.

Just wanted to give a quick update - red alphas will become a thing due to overwhelming interest in it!

I'm currently deciding between making a completely new Base Kit, like how ARSLOCK and hiney did with Classic Blue, or a child kit. My biggest concern would be a new base kit struggling to hit MOQ or competing with the current base kit for production, whereas I'd feel more comfortable with a child kit hitting MOQ. The biggest determining factor will be which US vendor decides to pick up the set! More updates to come in the near future

but is more suitable IMHO.

Of course, I'm not the one who should dictate the naming for someone's set/work, but why to block a great name like "Classic Red" and not include red Alphas

Red split bars can be in the space bars kit like VoC or frost witch. GMK honey and coral had the matching split bars in alt alphas kit.

The 1.75u space key in the spacebars kit isn't very useful. It's only used on three 40% keyboards (Vortex Core, Daisy, JD40), the latter of which actually requires two of them. As such, it can probably be removed from the kit. As for the second 1u space key, I'm not sure, but I think that one might be superfluous too.

It would be nice to see R4 1.25u Fn instead of Menu, since that key is currently missing from the kit.

Curious, and I couldn't find the colour code of the red - do the alphas match the red of the mods on GMK Jamon?

Edit: Didn't read hard enough and saw that this is GMK colour code P3.

Did some further research and found in GMK Jamon's IC thread that the red modifiers were RAL 030-40-60.

I'm not well-versed in colour matching and all that but tried looking for each colour code's hex code. P3 = #bc251e and RAL 030-40-60 = #ac2c32.

I don't think they would match very well if you combined them. It's close, but Jamon's is a slightly darker, more pinkish, meatier red color. But because it's close, and just slightly off, it wouldn't look good imo.
