Just realized the only Apple product I've ever owned in my entire life was a Newton 120.
That thing was sweet as hell though.

I too have avoided Apple, still have an iPod 5g and used to have a Mini because these have in common you can replace the spinning drives with flash cards to make them less fragile and you can replace the firmware to not need itunes. If all their products were similarly fixable I might have owned more
