Got mine finished today. Nice build.  I'll have to upload pictures sometime later b/c I'm headed out of town.  I didn't have any issues with the PCB.  I did notice that I shocked myself on the case and it rebooted the keyboard one time.  It could have been static shock I suppose.  I think the usb port touches the case just slightly.  That makes sense, right?

Anyway, very nice board.  I really like the bootmapper client software too.  I have 67g zealios in mine and I love the typing sound.  I ended up keeping penumbra on it, but I'll probably switch back and forth between that and hyperfuse.  Since this is my first top mounted board, I was curious to know if I could tell a difference from tray mount.  Yep, it's slight, but it does sound a lot nicer.

I did have one non E8-V1 related problem and I just thought I would mention it here.  I might make a post about it in the keycaps section as well.

I ordered some ePBT purple on beige keycaps to go on this board.  It looked perfect.  It would have been the dream.  However, I simply could not use those caps with cherry stabilizers. My best guess is that the purple set is a bit more shrunken from the molding process.  It definitely fits very tight on the stems.  I tried and tried all of the stablizers I had, but couldn't find a set that didn't feel like they were binding.  Long story short, it was the ePBT caps. I've experience similar issues with some pbt caps (industrial) from Signiture Plastics that were about 1mm off spec from stem center to stem center.  It pulls the stabilizers inward and makes them bind.   I will have to use the purple on beige set on a costar mount board, as they work fine there.  Boo.  I have a red on beige ePBT set that doesn't have this problem.

Oh well... Laser will look amazing on this keyboard some time down the road too.

You don't have any pcb issues? What happens if you turn off your computer with RGB sideglow on?

My rgb sideglow stays on once I turn off my computer.

Rgb stays on when computer off.

That really is unfortunate that you have two in such prominent spots, but I bet you will mostly forget about them once you put some keycaps on it.

I do have good news to report on the SA front.  I can confirm that sliding the plate up as far as possible will let you use SA, both all R3 and sculptured.  I pulled out my industrial set from PMK... looks pretty amazing on the dark gray case.  I've never left these keycaps on a board for more than a day, so we'll see if this one stands the test.

Well if we can find a way for SA profile to work then you could make it Fallout inspired to make you feel better.

I'm not gonna lie... i actually thought about what it might be like to do a "distressed/relic" look. It could be pretty cool. Or a total waste of an otherwise pretty nice board. Either way i support YOU doing it  :p

SA works if you slide the plate up.  At least for me it did

they are rubbing against blockers like the top side when the key is depressed

Got mine.  Board has one small blemish next to arrow keys.  What I thought was a scratch on the bottom turned out to be some kind of sticky material.  I was about to rub it off with my thumb.  My problem is that two of the M2 screws are so tight, I can't get them out.  I've tried two different 1.5mm allen wrenches.  Anyone got any suggestions?

I used a t6 driver on mine.  Worked well

Thanks.  I ended up using the same.  Amazon same day is lovely.

Woo that looks great! I haven't received an invoice for the shipping + assembly though. Would also appreciate a reply to the latest email I sent, but I know you're busy. Take your time.

Going to swap these out for GMK muted later today, but this is the best I’ve ever seen my SA industrial set looking.  No stepped caps but you get the idea.  Also if you turn down rgb brightness it does help to make the in switch leds much brighter.

Do you have any issues with the SA caps rubbing or getting stuck with the spacers?

I do not have issues as long as the plate is pushed up as far as I can get it to the top of the board.  The only issue I have is that any little bit of static buildup shocks the case and makes it reset in windows.  I just have to make sure I discharge my static electricity on something after I sit down and before I touch my keyboard.

I'm fairly certain it's static buildup but does anyone else have this problem?  I suppose it's possible that some of the pins are touching the metal base inside, but I would think that would cause a shock quite often.  I've never had it shock me while I was using it, only when I first sit down, after walking around.  And if I discharge the static on a metal stand nearby it doesn't shock me.

damn that looks great! can you grab a few 3/4 or side profile shots? really want to see how well the diffuser works

also the issue you had with static discharge is pretty disconcerting. sounds like something that could potentially kill the keyboard

thanks for sharing!

But the good news is, muted looks quite amazing

Just have to remember to discharge the static :)

I might think about putting some electrical tape around the usb connector inside the case.  That’s more than likely the spot that makes contact

That actually looks amazing, thank you! Do you just touch something metal before using the keyboard to prevent the static? That's not too bad I guess.

Can't wait to receive mine.

The created gap isn't bad. There is roughly 1mm more gap on the bottom than the top.  When you are using the keyboard, and not hovering directly above it, you cannot see the extra gap at all.  Seems like a silly oversight when the blockers should have been at least  2mm shorter.  Howver, it is still is one of the nicest boards I own.

Correct, I don’t.  I wonder if you could file down the plate edge along the top screw area to give yourself room to slide the plate.  It couldn’t hurt anything as long as you don’t file all the way to the hole

I do not have issues as long as the plate is pushed up as far as I can get it to the top of the board.  The only issue I have is that any little bit of static buildup shocks the case and makes it reset in windows.  I just have to make sure I discharge my static electricity on something after I sit down and before I touch my keyboard.
