US Customs is being extremely combative and difficult. Honestly, I'm not sure how this is going to turn out. I would say delivery is in question and the RACE order is up in the air because of the difficulties with this order.

Just being open and honest. I'll keep you all updated...

That's kinda weird.

US Customs Import Duty on keyboards is supposed to be free according to their code. Why else would they give hassle?

lol maybe if he goes to Chicago some time soon. he mostly works with customs at ports for cargo ships, as i'm pretty sure that's what the company handles. Not 100% though. I'll definitely have to talk to him later.

I hate to be pessimistic, but what's the worst that can happen? It's only a matter of time after they check it and customs has to release your packages, right? I mean it's not anything illegal, so I don't see what the big deal of the holdup is.

It should be fine, FCC need a paper, it won't be problem because it is safe product. Question may come to duty but keyboard is duty free. It might just some paper work.

It's all paperwork-related. I BELIEVE I have everything else they want and will be faxing it to them Friday afternoon (once I get home from a work trip to St Paul).

The good news is, assuming this wraps things up, I can prepare properly for the RACE shipment.

Bah so much issue, it is just dumb how much red tape there is on the simplest of things.

Reminds me when I sold my laptop to a person overseas, just getting it shipped to him was a major pitta.

The good news is that yes you learn what you need and how to do it for future reference. Though I am surprised as I thought you have done this many times before already.
