Knowing the geekhack community, I'm quite sure people with tenkeyless will just buy the 104 set if there isn't any other option cos they can still fill their board but those with a 104 keyboard might not get it because they simply don't have enough keys to populate the whole board.

I say keep it simple and just go with 104. Rather not alienate a part of the potential buyer market. With enough buyers, wouldn't the price of a 104 set drop enough to be negligibly more ex than a 87 key set? By negligible, I'm talking less than a $5 increase.

Personally I always buy 104-compatible stuff if I can since I have both 87 and 104 boards.  It's best to leave options open IMO.  That said, I will probably participate either way.

I think offering one kit is enough. It will only split the order and some kits may not reach the desired cost for some and they'll back out.
87-key or 104-key, not both. ISO? better luck next time. I really want this one to go through.

I think you are confused with "kit" and "add-on kit".  

The 87 kit will be the "base" kit.  if you want a 104 set, you would get the base 87-key kit, then get the 104 add-on kit which doesn't actually have 104 keys, but has just the numpad keys to bring the 87-key base kit to 104 keys for a full size keyboard.  Similarly for ISO kit if that happens.  Add-on kits would not lower the numbers of sets for the base kit.  Some kits may not get enough orders and remain expensive, but having the add-on kits will only increase the demand of the base 87-key kit.

This is the issue I have with offering more than one kit. Instead of have 80 orders of one kit that will give everyone low prices, we will have 20 people spread over 4 kits and it would be costly for everyone.
Even a 87 and 104 split is fine. But anything over three kits be prepared for high prices and confusion.

I'm thinking you're confused.  The way Ragnorock is planning the 'kits' is a base 87-key for standard TKL boards, and then add-on kits to adapt that base kit to 104key, ISO, Phantom and so forth.  So everyone that orders kicks down the 87key price, and then they have to deal with a small kit add-on that could cost quite a bit more per key to get a complete set for their particular board layout.

Lol wut? So I can get what I want? I only need the 87 keys. I'm offering to take the hit if it'll please more people at a minimal cost. You can always get more keyboards for the keys or sell them away but pretty hard to buy just the numpad after the gb if you ever want it for some reason. Just my opinon.

That's why I said minimal cost. It depends on the price difference. Also, the 'hit' is essentially an option, not a complete liability.

So anyways, the reason I am considering incorporating the Phantom add-on is because it has the potential to give a lot of forum members the opportunity to further customize their Phantom and help lower the price for everyone. For those that don't know, there was quite a bit of difficulty just getting 25 people to sign up for the "Blood" set when it was in Round 4, including 104 and 87. How much of that was just lack of interest and how much was because it was in Round 4 remains to be seen, but I am all for something that could potentially let us hit more than 50 orders.

So, is there even anyone besides me interested in a 3-key ISO addon kit? Shouldn't be that expensive, even at 10$ for those 3 keys, and it could look pretty badass with some nice symbols on the additional keys.
What a pity. Where are those who ordered ISO Blood in round 4? :/ There have easily been 15 ISO layouts, at a 130$ price. Should be much cheaper here.

I don't think there is too much to worry about lack of interest, as R4 is mainly just a mess, if a GB is going to end people will order.

I doubt I will be doing it, at least not in the near future. Full keysets are a lot more cost prohibitive for me to invest in in order to make it worth my time selling leftovers. I'm basically doing this one just to get myself and everyone some damn doubleshots. I may do it eventually, but expect a novelty keycap buy of some sort to follow this one. Is red alert PBT? I'm not exactly a fan of white keycaps, but if we did one in the same white PBT that the nyan/portal keys are, it would make a good set. I could also do a checker red on black/red on white look. Hmm.... Lol.

Red Alert is double shot as far as I know.  what kinds of fonts are available for dye sub?  Maybe it would be easier and cheaper to get a font closer to Cherry's font with dye sub than with double shot?

Dye sub would be more expensive in the end, but we'd have essentially endless freedom with the font etc, as we would just have to design the layout graphic for it... but honestly I'm all for just using their standard fonts, I have no problems with most of them and it saves us a bunch of fees.
