The 7G and the 6GV2 have a different layout. This set is compatible with both version, hence the three extra keys(right shift, backspace, backslash)

7G and 6GV2 have a bit different layout and that's why there're 3 extra keys for being compatible for both. As far as I could tell, KBC is not planning to make any key caps in other language layouts.

Why does it HAVE to be 500 sets ordered? They run the machines, they can set any amount the want. The only reason that makes sense to me is that they get sooo much business from other sets that they can't spare production time set aside to make 50 blank black sets, or everyone at their facility is too lazy to pull the black engraved sets out before it actually gets engraved.

Well if they're strict on the 500 set minimum order and you said we'll never reach that amount, then you just confirmed we'll never get KBC blank blacks, otherwise pay a premium for Ducky blank blacks.

I suspect they might do custom dyesubbing (or sell it to other company who does) but almost no-one does custom engraving.

I'm not sure if my English is good enough to express this, but what I meant is that there're some centain choices for those 104 key sets in the market, because they would be sold well. And the blank ones usually wouldn't be sold many, so KBC doesn't bring the blank ones to the market. And even they're not making any blank black set! In short, there's no blank black sets available even in the Chinese market.

Since there're some people showing their interest on the blank black sets, I just contacted the head of KBC to see if we could possibly get some . So the respond I got from him is that even though the blank black set is not available in the market, he can take custom orders about it which requires 500 sets as minimum order. Meanwhile he also offers 100 sets as minimum order for the Ducky 104 blank black sets, but it's more expensive than KBC's (he said the Ducky sets includes a retail box).

I know it doesn't really make sense, even I didn't understand either at first. But it's not about why they couldn't just simply remove the step of engraving, it's because the blank black sets are not for sale unless it's a custom order. It's like personally I really like those non-printed Topre key caps, but what if the Topre company only has printed ones for sale. I might just think the non-printed ones are much easier to make than printed ones. But for Topre, revenue is what they care about. Only limited number of people interested in non-printed ones would not influence their decision.

Feng, do you know how much the Ducky blank black PBT key caps would be if we got 100 orders?  Honestly, I'd be willing to buy 2-4 sets if enough other people were willing to buy some.

I firmly believe there is enough demand for these to sell 100 sets over a year or so.  So, depending on how much they are, I'd be willing to buy a couple sets for myself and then buy another set or two to sell later - for people that miss this Group Buy.  It seems there are always people who miss Group Buys and want in after the fact (myself especially)

Yeah, that was mentioned in another thread.  Sixty told someone to contact iMav, but apparently iMav didn't answer a couple PM's.  So, I assume he's busy or not really organizing that.  However, I didn't try him myself, so I'll just do that and post here if anything comes of it.

This is relative to how dirty you are haha. If you roll around in the mud all day and don't wash your hands before using your keyboard, then yeah, you'll get dirt clogged in there. But if you're OCD and wash your hands after you touch anything, then the engravings will never get dirty

hm.... I don't even know that the spacebar included in a 6GV2 set would fit on Leopold. The spacebar in a normal black set only has 3 stems, but the ones in a normal white set has 6 stems. I should edit my post for noticing. Thank you very much for the info Lamaboi!

The Black sets are only for Filco, since they don't come with an universal spacebar. The White sets are Filco/Leopold-compatible because the spacebar has 6 stems. So the gold on black set has a regular spacebar with 3 stems, it only fits on Filco.

Got my keycaps today! I've been checking the mail all week for them. I really should have bought two sets - I put them on my poker because the poker keys felt significantly worse than the Das, but now I want them on my Das because the PBT keys feel so damn good!
