Great episode, ON POINT.It had some good jokes for sure, but I felt it didn't make the most of the plot (a bit like the Florida cat episode). Still fun though.

I wish they just ended on Interdimensional Cable, it sucks Justin gave up on that whole thing. This meta callback **** is exactly what ruined Adventure Time. It's good to pepper in once in a while, but not write entire episodes relying on lore knowledge of the show because it's not (or wasn't traditionally) that type of show. One example of a show doing long running metacontent while still retaining the original feel of the show would be the Roger's golden turd plot line in American Dad which has been going on for 12 seasons. Rickturn of the Jerri was a decent enough episode if you look at it on it's own, but I really don't want R&M to become that type of show. I think the referential jokes Rick makes about not wanting to 'do a Star Wars' shows the writers were aware of this and really this episode is just a big jerkoff session for the type of people who show up to a Comic Con panel to ask why Morty's left shoe was slightly off-color during one scene in s02e10The writers seem very content to just do their own thing and make fun of everyone telling them what to do, which is excellent. I hope they maintain as much creative control as possible because the season was pretty good overall, I think. Maybe not as good as season 3, but solid for sure.
What is it anyway?One of the two writers was the showrunner for Community. It has the same type of humour, darkness, exploitation of issues and cynicism except less mature, with science fiction and more sex and violence.
