hi Geek Hackers!

Hi there this is hotrattz,

I've been check you guys out for a while, trying to gain some info on all this build your own mech keyboard stuff.  Started my quest a few months back when I started remapping my keyboard for work (i'm a developer) using better touch tool on the mac.  Being left handed I try to keep most of my repetitive tasks on my right hand by using the number pad and F-Keys {cut, cop, paste, certain lines of code like mixins i use repeatedly}.  Thought about making a keyboard to help with that (and look damn cool), Also Always wanted to make a keyboard, kinda "this is my rifle..." idea.  Really love the layouts i've seen of the RS96 and the duck0113 lightsavers def interested in procuring one of those.

Looking forward to making my own board soon, I'm sure I'll have tons of questions. Also love to be apart of the next lightsaver v3 buy (hope hope).

Welcome to Geekhack!

There's a bit of left-handed discussion around here, such as:

https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50668.0
https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=59068.0

Apart from making stuff together, there's also some recommended reading, that contains links to DIY and soldering threads.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
