Title: Best way to paint QFR backplate?
Post by: ScottieLK on Wed, 17 August 2016, 14:27:39
Hey all, so I've been looking around and I really like the look of the gold back plates on some of the custom boards but I really don't have the cash to buy one and I love the DIY appeal of using a quickfire. Before I jump into it I wanted to ask is there a better way to paint the back plate without removing all the switches/LED's, and if not, how difficult is that to do? I've soldered stuff before with success so I'm just wondering if its as straight forward as it sounds.

In theory and with a sufficiently sized paint brush, you could paint around the switches without removing anything.

Alternatively you would need to desolder all the switches.

Thanks, I tried to do some digging for something like those posts but I'm a bit new. Glad to be here though!

Hint: don't use GH's built-in search, use Google instead, with a query like:
