Driving Question
Often, the stories of WWII tell of the great sacrifice and courage of American men. What was the nature of women and minorities' contributions and experiences during this complex time?

Rationale
WWII is an extremely important period in the history of the United States. Countless films and works of literature refer to this period as unifying the many different strands that make up this great nation. However, many contributions made by women and minorities to the war went unnoticed or were taken for granted. In addition, this was one of America's darkest periods, when U.S. citizens were imprisoned out of mistrust and the lives of countless Japanese Americans were devastated. While men were fighting the war effort on countless campaigns abroad, thousands of American women and minorities also worked and sacrificed so that victory in WW II could be ours.

Groups
You will work in a group of 4-6 people.

Project Overview
Your group will be pitching a television series, focusing on women and minorities during WWII. Your group will give an outline of each episode, including the subject, topics, and why each should be included. You will decide on the number of episodes in the series, the length of each episode and even the cover design for each episode.  As a group, you will focus on one the following topics in your series and read a relevant memoir:

MINORITY GROUP TOPICS
•   Japanese American Internment
•   Tuskegee Airmen
•   Navajo Code Talkers
•   Women on the Homefront
•   Japanese American 442nd Regimental Combat Team & 100th Battalion

In addition, each group member will choose one of the following approaches for research and a report. Each person will be the designated "expert" on this approach and will be responsible for creatively incorporating it into the television series proposal. You may choose to work individually or to pair with one group member to research and write a report related to:

RESEARCH REPORT APPROACHES
•   The discrimination limitations imposed upon the minority group/women
•   The experience of an individual (other than the main character in the book)
•   The legacy/lasting impacts made by the minority group/women over time
•   The contributions of the minority group/women to the war effort
•   The public’s perception and interactions with the minority group/women

GROUP TASKS

1. Submit an extensive written outline of each episode (2-3 pages per episode), complete with explanations and definitions (keep in mind that you will be pitching to people who might not know about your topic), cover designs and Works Cited in MLA format. Note: No outline will be accepted without a properly completed Works Cited page. Projects will be considered late until the Works Cited is submitted.

2. Make a 10-minute persuasive pitch for the television series that you have outlined. Each member of the group must participate in the pitch. It will be your group's choice on how each member will be contributing. Remember, your pitch must include a brief synopsis of each episode, including the topic, historical material covered and why it should be included in your series. More detailed presentation guidelines to come.

INDIVIDUAL (or PARTNER) TASKS

1. Each group member will choose one of the five approaches to the research report. You will need to do extensive research on this topic and read a corresponding book, as you will be the expert when it comes to creating the pitch, and the written episode outline. You may work individually or with one partner.

3. Compile a final report (2-3 pages) on your topic (individually or with one partner). This should later be used to help your group create the written outline of each episode.

EXTRA CREDIT

If your group would like extra credit, you can create a movie trailer of 1-2 minutes to go along with your pitch. This is to be completed outside of class time, and you will be responsible for the resources necessary to create and complete it. If you are thinking about doing this, be sure to clear it with the teachers first, and no later than one week before your pitch is due. No exceptions.

Full set? We will never hit the MOQ.

Sure we will.  Or are you just crapping the thread because you want your more expensive set to be successful.  I'd rather buy a marginally more expensive full set and would definitely be down.  Hell, if we had a $100 full set, I'd be down for two or three, even if I just resold one or two later.

What happened to last Ivan's fullset GB?

they used the medical equivalent of a deli slicer to shave Molaison’s brain into 2,401 slices, each of which they mounted on a glass plate and photographed at 20x magnification, to form a digital, zoomable map down to the level of individual neurons. The slicing process was broadcast live online, and 400,000 people tuned in to say goodbye to H.M.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Did you know. The African Tree Whale is a special breed of whale. It is usually found within the deep safari and will mostly likely be found feeding on Nigerian Tree Leopards. Only 3 have been reported seen and they weigh up to One- Quadrillion Tons. If you're lucky you will find one in the deep heart of the african Safari where snakes thrive and Whales prosper.
