Or just keep the information here instead of launching yet another discord channel resulting in no info here anymore... no thx.
I agree. I dare say discord is only for those with spare time and humor for banter. As an information source it hasn't brought anything positive to the community.
Gotta agree on that one, checking discord channels every few days for relevant information is pretty annoying.

If you have to time would you be able to make renders with Modern Dolch Light? I think it would look pretty sick with any of the monochrome colors.

He’s already mentioned he won’t be taking more render requests. There is a decent amount in the OP already.

Ah ok thank you. I thought I read the whole thread but must have missed it. Super excited for this GB! It looks so awesome.

Definitely interested in this one, looking for a compact 75% keyboard and in doubt between the 7V and the Evolv.. I guess the price will be the deciding factor

Is it possible to get a render of GMK Modern Dolch Light on the E-Coat White?
I'm not doing anymore renders sorry. Janglad asked me for the render files of the 7V though so maybe he will be doing one.
Does the black pvd mirror scale well with quantity?
Not sure if it does but all I can say is that one offs in PVD are very expensive.

I really hope the grey color is finalized. It looks gorgeous!
(just saw my question about unlimited gb was answered. Very happy about that! :D)
Grey will be on eof the colour options along with the rest of the colours listed under the details section of the main post.

Gok should start a discord group for this.
I don't have time to maintain a discord. There is an unofficial channel on the dailyclack server though where people discuss things about the keyboard and meme.

Wait, where is the link to the IC form? I'm completely missing it.
There isn't an IC form. This is the interest check and after nearly a year of development, we are just waiting for the final prototype and costings to come in before we start the group buy.

Are you still hopeful we could have the GB for this in march? Super excited. This is one of the best looking 75 percents I've ever seen, and I'm 100 percent in.
It's a bit touch and go due to the coronavirus but I am HOPEFUL.

Are there any sounds tests available for this board?
I have a proper mic now so I should be able to get something recorded within a couple of weeks. I just need to figure out how to configure it so that it doesn't capture too much ambient sound since it's a condenser mic. I also need to figure out how to boost the volume without adding noise.

Please read through the main post because it has the answer as well answers to other queries you may possibly have.
There is also a FAQ section in the main post where I add answers to recurring questions.

Hey Gok, I know you said that you put in an order for the final prototype before the Chinese New Year celebrations started, but I was wondering if you've been able to get it even now, with the coronavirus and all going on.

Good luck with the rest of the project!

He has said that most likely won’t be till March when he will get the prototype, but considering the virus it’s hard to tell at this point. Hopefully it’ll still happen but who knows

i noticed that the asian vendor is "deskeys". A Google Search indicates that the only product they sell are topre silencing rings.

Has anyone used them before and are familiar with them?  Where are they based?

Deskeys is run by kevinplus who has worked with Ai03 on projects such as the Polaris and the KBD8X. He is based in China and has the advantage of being able to do QC at the factory.

Oh sweet summer child.... Realise that developing something from scratch just takes time. I get it, you're new to the hobby and you're eager. But group buys take time. You're gonna be doing a lot of waiting if you're sticking around.

I don't think you need to be that experienced with the hobby. I knew that I wouldn't get my BOCC and MT3 Serika on the expected month. To top it off, the coronavirus happened. Waiting is pain, but I know it's gonna be worth it.

Oh boy oh boy. This board looks really interesting, especially the mounting solution. Never really been a fan of 75% but this might be worth looking into, the stainless weight looks gorg.

Hoping all well for our friends in the east battleing the coronavirus so this GB can go in March.

I'm saying this assuming your comment was tongue-in-cheek... Not really competition since the 7V is probably going to be more top-shelf quality. KBD Fans is definitely strong with budget/value keyboards, but I have yet to see them put out a top-tier product. That being said, the KBD Fans board looks pretty cool and I'm sure it will be sold at a very compelling price!

Oh I definitely wasn't meaning to be disrespectful in any way, I think both boards will be great in their own right! However, it is nice to see this layout being offered in more places (esp if KBD will be more affordable).

But that being said, you sound pretty confident that 7V will be much higher quality than whatever KBD comes up with. Is it a general consensus that one-off group buys are much better quality than something a keyboard company can offer?

No worries. Sorry, I wasn't trying to say you were being disrespectful. I just didn't see much competition in terms of the kind of product the 7V is looking to be, based on the photos of physical samples, materials GOK's using, renders etc. and what KBD Fans normally puts out there--no disrespect to KBD Fans, I've bought plenty of their stuff and the quality is amazing for the price.

In general I can't say there's a consensus on one-off quality. The quality can vary a lot from one group buy to the next. I guess I've just participated in enough GBs that I just look for certain things in the photos of the samples like tolerances, anodizing consistency (if the photos are good enough). My guess is the 7V is most likely going to be higher quality, and that usually comes with higher $$.

I think Blue will be a colour option. It just the final product will have a different tone of Blue compared to the proto because manufacturer changed. I believe...

Do we already have confirmation on how the GB is going to run? (fcfs, raffle, auction, mix)
