Blank key - Unicomp Customizer (special request order)

Hi everyone,

  My Unicomp Customizer has finally reached my door step, I am a bit fussy with the keycap so I specially requested that all key caps are blank. Just wondering if any1 here got it before me?

I know that some here have ordered the black versions of Unicomp's Customizer 104 and their Spacesavers with blank keys (including me), but I'm not sure if anyone other than you has ordered the white Customizer 101 with blanks.

Again, I like that very much... hope you enjoy it!  :cool:

I bought a black Endurapro 105 with blank, grey keycaps last year in August. I love this keyboard.

I found an old picture of it (sorry about the quality!). You might notice the color of some keycaps is slightly off. It's barely noticable during use, but the camera seems to pick it up rather well.

That's interesting. Are all of the off-colour ones either large keys (Ctrl, Enter, Space etc.), dotted keys (F, J, Num5) or trackpoint keys (G,H,B)?

The dotted keys are also two-piece keys, while the rest (I haven't taken everything apart ... yet) are one piece. The slight colour difference could be due to different production runs.

I didn't know that you could get blank white or gray keys!  That's pretty awesome.  I like the all white, though it wouldn't fit with my stuff.  I'm still waiting to order my black Spacesaver with blank black keys.  Unfortunately, some last minute expenses caused me to delay order it another month...

I just wrote an e-mail to Unicomp and asked whether it was possible to get unprinted keys. Actually, I had been thinking of getting the keyboard for quite some time, but it was just too expensive and the unavailability of USB outside the USA turned me down a bit. So made up my mind and waited for decent exchange rates until I ordered. Getting a PS/2 to USB adapter should, in theory, be a no-brainer. In practice, it's somewhat painful.

Many of us here have known about the blank black keys for a while.  Maybe some others knew about the blank white and gray as well, but I didn't know about those.

FYI, when I bought my keyboard, blank grey keycaps didn't cost a premium, so this might be a consideration.
But the white keyboard just looks really exciting. I was a bit worried about colour degradation after a few years, so I decided to get the black version od the Endurapro.

The gray keys are slightly different colors even in the printed version, at least on my EnduraPro 104 - the "off" keys look dirty compared to most of the keys.
