For you SSK lovers.

Seller seems legit.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251621128740?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Wonder how much it will go for...

Welcome to Geekhack!

Interesting second post - you looking for an SSK, or got one already?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks!

I was thinking about picking this up but figured someone else here would appreciate it more.

I love the feel of bs switches but not the pinging noise.

Get it and do a floss mod. I floss modded the SSK I use at work.
Code: [Select]
/*pz*/char p[]=" ELPRTWZ";unsigned z[]={553179788,1641},
_=14;main(){while(_--)putchar(p[z[_/012]>>3*(_%10)&7]);}

Oh hmmm it never occured to me that you could floss mod a ssk. I just assumed the ping was from the actual spring buckling.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into that.

edit: I'm an idiot. For some reason I read 'floss mod' and my brain interpreted as 'dental band' like you do on a topre.
This mod seems pretty cool. I'll see if I can get one of my friend's who has an ssk to try it.

Thanks!

There are some wheelwriter 3 series keyboard with o-rings on them. but I'm told they don't do much.

As someone who has a pocket full of wheelwriter 3 o-rings, I think I might just do some science this weekend.
