Massdrop launched a drop for GMK modifier sets. There are discussions at various place already, so I figure I create a dedicated topic here.

CMYW:


Unfortuantely, the listing misses any GMK renders (for profile questions for example), and it will ship directly from the vendor. That's why Originativeco is suspected to be behind this drop.

Remember it's GMK, so these caps are Cherry profile, thick ABS doubleshot!

There have been group buys for similar sets on Geekhack before: CMYW, RGBY

CMYW definitely is interesting. Bummer that it costs as much as the original CMYW group buy and is missing the symbol-only Shifts and has "Ctrl" legends even on the 1.25x and 1.5x keys.

I guess probably his presumption is reliable. There are a couple of grounds for believing it.

1. Shipping information
In GMK TA group buy, it describes MD will ship all orders as below.
Domestic and international orders will be shipped by Massdrop.

However, in this group buy, 'the vendor' will do.
Domestic and international orders will be shipped by the vendor.

2. Keycaps
The constitution of keycaps in both RGBY and CMYW mods is so similar to Originative's.
In particular, it does look like the CMYW mods do have "Ctrl" rather than "Control".

I can't think of a case when Massdrop didn't deliver (aside from some quality control issues maybe). :rolleyes:

I still wouldn't back anything from Sherry, especially when there are still people with outstanding issues from him.  I seem to remember people still not having everything from his black on black set.

these have white legends, his are black, but his has more keycaps that you will actually benefit from, instead of 1u ctrl and alt, and his supports ISO

I was ready to commit, but noticed the RGBY set lacked the "Menu" key like the GB Feng did not too long ago.
