The subject matter more than makes up for it :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Wow! I can see why you have OG HHKB Master under your name.

That second pic looks trippy when I scan my eyes across the picture. Also REALLY digging that 4th pic, whatever keycap you have on your escape key really ties everything in the picture together for me, do you mind if I use that as my forum pic? I just can't stop looking at it

The key is finding someone to sell you 55g domes or having enough for a 55g 87key.

I'm thinking of buying that and a 23U so I can make both it and my HHKB 55g then try and sell the 45g 87.

Honestly it is hard to say and depends on what someone might be looking for and how much you are willing to lose to sell it and what price you can get on a 55g board to start with. :D

I'm thinking of buying that and a 23U so I can make both it and my HHKB 55g then try and sell the 45g 87.

Been there done that and considering doing it all again....I have a problem...... :-\

Do you think Black or White will be easier to sell? I can't believe I'm doing this.

Black...I spent months trying to find a 23ub, and I know a lot of people that were in the same boat. Only reason I went with a type-s over the regular black hhkb is I got a white 23u. Either one should resell fine though.

Also, think of the amount of white Realforces you see compared to black posted on here. The black realforces come in at about 6-1

For the most part, the kind of people to drop $200+ on a Topre are likely going to be comfortable touch typing so the high-vis legends won't be as important. Plus the black-on-black just looks badass.

Realforce EK45 (Silenced)  |  Realforce 87UW (45g)  |  Realforce 87UWS (Variable)
Filco MJ2 TKL (Cherry Clears)  |  Phantom 87 (78g Gateron Clears)  |  Phantom 86 (67g Zealios)

I agree. Why do you think I have the black RF caps on my HHKB and 23u  ;)

You just have to suck it up and buy the 55g realforce and swap domes.

Well I bought a 55g. Literally just for the domes, I can't believe what I've done. But I'll have extra 55g domes if anyone wants a 55g 23U.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

That'll leave you with 3 extra 55g domes if you're trading for the 45g domes. You can easily resell the 87 like I did.

That's the plan! I would have bought a 23u but I really like my g80-3700hqaus with lubed blacks.

Can't argue with that at all. It's a nice pad. Glad my HHKB converted you XD. That makes 2 from Hoff's meetup that have done what you did

Really! Honestly I would have been fine with 45g had I not tried yours. Who else got one?

I love the Realforce keypad, the reaper fits in so well. Then again the reapers fit in anywhere.
