Yeah I think 104s and 87s can be found for closer to 16000 yen. Did you happen to buy them at yodobashi or a store similar to that?

Do you know of any online store that sells with prices that low? I tried kakaku for the silent 87U and the cheapest I saw is 24000.

Can't find any on ebay anymore so I gotta rely on proxy.

I got a silenced real force off amazon.jp really cheap used.

Harvested the silent sliders for my 87u. I need to put that thing back together now that I think of it.

Who did you use for proxying? I'm dieing to get a silenced variable 87UB and they are way cheaper on AmazonJP.

Realforce EK45 (Silenced)  |  Realforce 87UW (45g)  |  Realforce 87UWS (Variable)
Filco MJ2 TKL (Cherry Clears)  |  Phantom 87 (78g Gateron Clears)  |  Phantom 86 (67g Zealios)

evospec. He is a member on here. He charges a minimal fee and he double checks everything and takes pictures before he sends stuff.

He also makes sure everything is packaged well.

I sat on amazon.jp for a weekend looking at the used silent RealForces and finally found one for 12000 yen (97 USD)

This pretty cheap for having silent sliders: The one I bought was still cheaper but this isn't bad. Can easily harvest it and sell for $150 if you wanted to.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%9D%B1%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC-REALFORCE108US-%E9%9D%99%E9%9B%BB%E5%AE%B9%E9%87%8F%E7%84%A1%E6%8E%A5%E7%82%B9%E6%96%B9%E5%BC%8F-ALL30g-SJ38D0/dp/B003Y2ZBUU/ref=sr_1_24?ie=UTF8&qid=1448205002&sr=8-24&keywords=topre

Hmm this one is already 17k. For another 7k I can get a brand new 87U. Decisions decisions...

it needs the grey mods from a 104-pro or -dk to be more of a replica of this set, i'm not sure if anyone has all necessary sets (mods from dk, white alphas, yellow functions from set) to properly recreate it though. maybe 002?

Are they the same as what's in the Type-s?

AFAIK they're longer sliders that compensate for the travel distance lost after putting on silencing rings.

On a separate note, can someone confirm that Type-S sliders are actually not longer than regular ones?

The base is thinner on the purple sliders, as opposed to the normal black sliders. Type S uses regular black sliders.

This is correct, the barrel of the purple sliders is longer because the base is thinner.

Ill do some scouting aswell

Appreciate it brother :)

This pretty cheap for having silent sliders: The one I bought was still cheaper but this isn't bad. Can easily harvest it and sell for $150 if you wanted to.

What are silent sliders?

Are they the same as what's in the Type-s?

AFAIK they're longer sliders that compensate for the travel distance lost after putting on silencing rings.

On a separate note, can someone confirm that Type-S sliders are actually not longer than regular ones?

The base is thinner on the purple sliders, as opposed to the normal black sliders. Type S uses regular black sliders.

awesome, guess i need to pick up a board with some purple slider's to salvage

I.e. an HHKB Type S.  Heck of a board to sacrifice just for the sliders
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
