I can't wait, this is my dream board.
Thanks again for going out of your way to lead me to the SSK and phosphor's site Meow<3I'm really excited its not quite in the mail but will be very soon!

No problem! I hope you enjoy your SSK. I'm jealous of your shipping price, mine cost me $40 to have it shipped from Cindy to me.
I also have 100 Gateron blacks and 100 clears on the way from the Gateron GB. I haven't decided what I'm going to use them for yet, but I had to get in on that GB, they were so cheap!
I got 300 GON 62g springs in the mail a couple weeks ago, but I think I want something lighter still. I'm interested in trying out 50g Korean springs.
So you felt the 62g springs were to heavy. Dammit I was afraid of that I've been looking for something to mod my MX clears with that's lighter than the stock springs but heavier than browns! Maybe 55g or 58.5g springs, also how long was shipping from gons site for your springs ? Anyways yaaa man I'm really excited you really made my night as I had been looking for an SSK to no avail this is going to be AMAZING. So where do you find BS key caps. I found some from UNICOMP but I'm unsure to the thickness and material used in the caps. Also my IKBC silver aluminum low pro case comes in today I really had wanted to re-spring the clears in my poker before transferring but I am now afraid the 62g ones I ordered will be to heavy. Anyways good mail day today for me and lots of goodies on the way!
Oh, don't worry 62g is perfect for ergo clears. Anything lighter sometimes gets stuck on the tactile bump of the clear stem. 62g is also what you're looking for, I believe brown springs come in at 60g on the Korean scale. Your Poker will feel great with 62g ergo clears, I really like them. My next MX board is going to be 62g ergo clears (or maybe 62g Gateron clears?), which is why I have the 62g GON springs.
I just enjoy really light linears, I found I really liked them when I swapped the black springs out of my Phantom for 55g Sprit springs. It feels like typing on a cloud with the light springs + lube. I find I don't make any more mistakes than I did with heavy springs either.
I actually didn't order them from GON, his shipping is really expensive. He only ships express international or something, so it needs to be a big order to be worth it. I bought them from a user on the classifieds. Aside from shipping though, they're a really good deal. 300 springs for $15.
Unicomp is really the only place to buy IBM caps. Their RGB sets are really nice! Some people have hit and miss experiences with them though. I have a Unicomp WASD set, RGB set, and a couple custom colour printed keycaps (dark blue num lock and Geekhack). The WASD set, RGB, and num lock are all nice quality, but they kinda dyesubbed the printing on the GH key a little crooked. It's not that bad though.
Their quality is pretty good, it's still dyesub PBT and I believe it's exactly the same thickness. They bought IBM's original manufacturing equipment, so it's as close to original as you can get. The only complaints I've heard have to do with the legends, and sometimes flashing, but their customer support is really helpful. If you plan on restoring your SSK yourself, you will likely need to go through them for something or another. They sell almost all of the spare parts for IBM's. I think they even have SSK barrel plates for sale.
