To hopefully receive everything I ordered in 2017 :D

For 2018:

- Finally receive the Model F77.
- Finally receive the WhiteFox.
- Build a couple of Banana Split 60s with my Zo64 layout.
- Build a keyboard (possibly TKL) with Kailh BOX Navy switches.
- Build a new PC to run Ubuntu MATE. (My first complete computer build, in fact.)
And finally… Attempt to build this:
- Stop buying key sets! (but if GMK hyperfuse and/or Honeywell get run again, I’m making an exception)

keep an eye on oco
Get my hands on a decent alu wkl tkl board
Get my hands on a decent alu wkl tkl board
mech27 has slots available :eyes:
I sold my ve.a. using TGR Jane CE + TGR 910 poly, and waiting for 910 alu.Still got my ve.a. this will be in my possesion for a long time.
Got RA. Oblivion and Nautilus is still on the way.. hyperfuse still nowhere to be found. no changes. but I've decided to sell all of them once they arrived and keeping RA only.
didn't continue my filco phantom. rt80 is out for a while for some body repair. em7 still on the way (great GB so far /s :blank: )no changes. still on the waiting game.
hah. as i got my 910 already there's no need for another 60-65%.SKBXX too expensive for me. got a second 910 coming as well.but i might join SKBXX for the giggles tho. that case is cool.
Switches;sold gatistotle. and i have too much spring in stock.. 68g taobao, 67g taobao, 62g, stock gateron blue spring, sprit 65s, sprit 68s, kin aconical spring... the list goes on and on. also i think i have too much lube incoming.. 103, 105, 205, ro59..
no more silent shawarma. tealios already goes into 910 and it feels amazing.gatistotle already completed but i don't have any place to put in on:)) . vintage and zeal stem also in same condition as gatistole.
other projects;in progress. 2018 will be so exciting.
should start learning solidworks for my lilly..
in the verge of retiring, but i'd probably buy things again, so yeah :))pretty much i'm gonna be so finished for keyboards at 2017. maybe not gonna stop at keycaps, but pretty much for the keyboard.still on the game. retiring is a myth.
I have several boards in-progress that I need to complete:
-DFK101 with Salmon Alps
-XD64-based board for my laptop with 55g Greelios (Stealio/Gateron Tactile Clear stem in Greetech housing)
-GH60 Satan with 35g Gatistotles and GMK 3Run
-GNAP! #1 with modded Gateron Yellows (Cherry housing, aristotle spring)
-GNAP! #2 with Kailh Speed Pink
-HHKB JP-layout Uchu70 with Kailh Box Pale Blue
-Heavily modded Chicony fullsize with SMK White and PETG case
So TL;DR a whole bunch of stuff I started this year and will have to finish next year.
It's amazing how much the list has grown since last year. I guess that's what a year of being into keyboards does to you :^)

Wait till like year 5. You wont even remember you had something when you go dig out a desk drawer. :))

Hope to get a TGR910, already got switches and everything for it ready.
buy more brocaps and key sets.
Finally get my hands on the toxic set, its been such a damn long wait
For 2018 I want a nice set of SA fully-sculpted double-shot keycaps. Any pointers are appreciated.https://kbdfans.cn/collections/keycaps/maxkey
Get around to (re-)building my 75% Chinese custom.
Get started on my own custom keyboard (Magicforce 68 layout with fkeys, all aluminum case, RGB lighting...)
Odd layout? It's just a compressed TKL (minus 2 keys), so you can use standard key caps but still smaller in width than a TKL. We just got a CNC mill at my company, so this is now doable.
1. Finish building my VE.A; currently it's waiting for some MOD-H's to ship, but I already have my hotlites, keycaps, stickers, rubber dampeners, stabilizers (shipped), MX locks (shipped) and cable (thinking of replacing).
2. Start working on an HHKB portable endgame. This is going to be more of a longer term thing, but with RAMA working on a case, I'm planning on getting an HHKB, a hasu controller, 55g domes, MX compatible stems. I don't even know what caps I would want on it. I'm a little burnt out on caring for keycap sets.
3. Start designing my own entirely custom keyboard. I have so many grand ideas for how I want my first two custom boards to work but I haven't followed up on them at all in 2016. I think by this time next year I would want to have already designed at least the weight distribution of all the switches.
4. Keep searching for a Model M from my birthdate (1991).
build a Katana60 or two, now that PCBs are available from CandyKeys
Close, but it lacks a physical F-key row.Get around to (re-)building my 75% Chinese custom.

Is the Varmilo VA68 not good enough? It checks all your boxes.
Figure out what switches to use in my partial plate, then retire until a TGR 910 polycarbonate edition buy happens.
- Hopefully get my E8-V1 sometime this year
- Build a second planck (which I just finished ordering parts for)
- Restore a second Apple M0110A
- Try some of these newfangled Kaihl switches and more Alps
- Sell some stuff I haven't used in a while
Should be a good year ;D
I am super new to this mechanical keyboard thing. My trigger was a friend and co-worker that was using a Cooler Master Rapid-i with Cherry MX Brown switches. He was telling me how much he loved it and how one of his new year's resolution was to learn to properly touch type using the home row, etc.
So I started researching and found /r/MechanicalKeyboard and I fell in love. Particular to those colorful beautiful DSA keysets with awesome fonts. The main issue is that I live in Brazil and importing things here is a pain in the ass. It takes forever and you always end up paying 2-2.5x the product price.
However, I was decided to get my hands on a mech keyboard so I ordered a CM Rapid-i that had some burnt LEDs to get a feeling of the Brown switches myself. I bought this one locally from our own incarnation of an eBay like website called Mercado Livre.
This happened around new year's so the shipping would take almost a week to get here. And I reeeeally wanted to try a mechanical keyboard so I ended up going to a local computer store and got one of the keyboards that are easy to find: I got the Razer Chroma Tournament v2 with Blue switches.
And of course, I loved it! The blue switches are awesome... But in this interim, my CM Rapid-i with brown switches arrived and I was really pleased with the browns as well, but to be honest the burnt LEDs was a downer for me.
And therefore, here are my 2018 keyboard plans:
- Get my first programmable keyboard - I bought the tada68 off from KBDfans on AliExpress
- Get my first custom keyset - I got this [1], from AliExpress as well
- Get the ErgoDox-EZ - I do programming for a living and after watching this guy use the ErgoDox on this YouTube video [2] I was hooked
So with all that I currently became addicted to checking tracking codes every hour or so, even though they obviously don't change at all -- many haven't even been picked up by the carrier :)

Welcome to the fold man! I can completely relate to your post. I found here at GH & r/MKB shortly after getting my 1st mech for gaming & feel in love with the hobby really quick too! Those are some nice boards you got to start off with but wait till you get your TADA68! I bet that becomes your daily driver. Nothing against the CM Rapid i & Razer Chroma V2 but the MKB world has much better to offer IME & IMO the TADA68 is a nice step up from both of them especially if you got an aluminum case with yours. Anyways, just wanted to say welcome & be sure to let us know how you like the TADA68 once you get it!

i recommend vintage browns
To not buy another keyboard until I have sold one. I should hit 8 by mid year and that is more than enough, so 1:1 only

haha more than enough for me! It's getting alot harder to justify when I'm 'trying' to save for a house *eep
Need new keyboards for a house - at least one in every room.

No, you need a room dedicated to keyboard workshop and display.

5. Spend less money
4) build a couple minimalist keyboards based on salvaged sets of switches/caps from vintage electronic typewriters.
5) Upgrade a vintage mechanical calculator to dual function as a hid device
An update to my to-do list. I just ordered a YMD96 kit.. Jumping down a rabbit hole here
1- Restore my main Model M
2- Change the switches on my Anne Pro (from brown to whatever, probably Gateron Yellows)
3- Find some better keycaps for my Anne Pro, preferably some vintage ones.
1. Start building this:Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/PJdXf11.png)
- Resist buying the Rama M60. Or don't. It's going to be a long few days until that Group buy closes on 4/20.
- If I resist buying the M60, I plan on doing a PCB, plate, and switch swap on my Tina-A.
- If I DON'T resist buying the M60, I plan on doing a PCB, plate, and switch swap on my Tina-A. ;D
- Buy black HHKB, then swap sliders with my Type-S to have a "Stealth mode" HHKB (and a mislabeled Type-S, but SHHHHHHH.)
- Get a Hasu HHKB controller, if I can think of a nice looking way to block the USB port holes.

I have two boards with hako Trues now, but I really want to make Holy Pandas for the m60 when the R2 pandas happen.

they only work with halos right?
What’s the chance massdrop has a drop with only halos :p

My 2018 plans are pulling these hako true switches out of my nightfox and getting some 67g zealios in it. I'm really not a fan of the hako trues after giving them a chance for awhile.
Retire from KB-dillusional-madness.
Retire from KB-dillusional-madness.
Let me know how this works out for ya ;)
I'd like to buy a Pearl 60 whenever that comes out and go all out with mods, lube, stem swap, spring swap, bandaid, all of it.
- Sell off boards I won't likely use again (such a hassle, I'm almost to the point where I might just throw out some of them to clear up space lol)
Hmmm, as long as they pay shipping.- Sell off boards I won't likely use again (such a hassle, I'm almost to the point where I might just throw out some of them to clear up space lol)
There's the free stuff thread to just have people take it off your hands if selling is too much of a hassle!
Build 910

Don't get box switches. They destroy keycaps' stems.
Some reference documentation would be nice for those that are curious by this statement.

Clean the crap out from the insides of my keyboards.Ugh I need to clean mine as well. Damn it I am just so lazy today.
Otherwise, I am in a happy keyboard place and have no urge to change anything.
Does anybody use mechanical keyboard for your gaming keyboard? :)Yes I use my mech for gaming. I don't want to switch just because I am playing a game.
And like my entire sad existence at geekhack and credit card debt, no one will care.I care, buddy. I care. :thumb:
My plans involve finding an affordable, probably USB-converted F122 (because the 122 one is the only Model F layout that doesn't suck :blank:) for work.
