Well I've finally got a mech now. Home office is the dining room table and the room only has two plug sockets so cable management isn't really an option.

I call it monochrome and a touch of orange.

Let's split with blank pbt xda keycaps and box heavy burnt orange switches.

Non-keyboard stuff- Lenovo P40, Beyerdynamic DT880 250 ohm, Pilot Prera medium nib, Diamine graphite, Rhodia #16 dot and Apica CD premium blank notebook.

Wow. Looks like you spent too much money on audio equipment and not enough on monitors ;)

Funny, I actually am in the process of selling all my monitors (if you mean screens?) - I really just have no interest in having a non-portable PC setup and 12" of screen real estate is totally sufficient for me at this point in this apartment.  If you mean speakers, they're more for 2+ person listening for hanging out or watching shows, so they don't need to be primo audio quality, just be extra pretty (these fit the bill perfectly).

Not a judgement but it makes me smile since i was very much the same way - No design consideration, just push all your cool stuff up against the walls so theres more room for activities.

I've been enjoying looking at the different set-ups people have - some of them make me somewhat jealous.

My set-up at work - HP workstation witth 2x 22" HP monitors.  Running Windows 7, using my old wired Logitech Trackman Wheel and my Mk 1 Ergoboard.

My home set-up - nowhere near as tidy - Asus X58LE that I got via online auction for NZ$91.98 (around US$66.58) not including the two aluminium "Debian" stickers. Running "jessie", using my wireless Logitech Trackman Wheel M570, Mk 1 Ergoboard and 22" AOC monitor that cost only a few dollars more than the laptop.

I've finally finished going through the entire thread and looking at such images as are still available.

There are so many awesome set-ups - and some spectacular messes that made me wonder why I felt the need to clean my home desk before taking a photo.

Makes me wish I had what I want to make my set-up how I want it - though that would probably require me to learn more about carpentry than "just bang a few nails into it".

Really happy with it. I braced it on the bottom right to prevent it from sagging though, but I'm nearing the rated weight limit of 50kg.

Wow these speakers dominate everything, they're huge :) Especially compared to your screen.
Would look even better (cleaner) in my opinion if the mousepad wasn't so super big. Don't really understand the size, especially with just one monitor :D Do you use your mouse with very low sensitivity?
I have 3 screens and barely have to move my mouse (4000 DPI).
Maybe one of these xxl mousepads which extends all the way under the keyboard would look better.

I mostly listen to music and play games on somewhat lower sensitivity so I need a larger mat. Even in windows I use 800 dpi only. Although I kinda like this older monitor (Lenovo L220x), I do plan to upgrade soon but haven't found one that I really like (feature and price wise) yet.

Got a new monitor (AOC Agon 27" AG271QX).

144Hz 1440p is pretty nice!

So I've been reorganising my lounge to make it easier for my to sit at my desk without crashing into my couch.  This time I didn't bother tidying the desk for the photo.  :p

And this is the collection I can now gaze at when I'm goofing off instead of working - I took the glass out for the pic so you can see the contents.

New (used) desk to replace the tiny 28" Ikea table I was using.  Finally have the keyboard at an acceptable height and my chair adjusted correctly.

I'm trying to find a shelf like that to show off my collection but haven't had any luck at the Op shops or antique stores in Hamilton, might as well make one for the term break hehe

This is my setup:

The multi-color Lighting strip on the back of the monitor is stripped from a sad membrane keyboard that I broke, it's in better use now and it does the job!  :thumb:

Thanks.  I've found our Trademe site a great source of affordable furniture; picked up the display cabinet for a reasonable price.

Nice set-up, very tidy.  I have to spend an hour hiding s**t to get my desk looking anything like that.

I only really tidy up when there's a "post your setup pic" thread going on or when family's visiting, I try to keep it clean and free of mess everyday but haah, it took me a roll of velcro straps and some 9 hours to do this whole desk...  :))

Took some time and reorganized over the weekend, moving my PC behind the monitor arms. Before that area was basically dead space. The bottlehead crack in it's own corner feels much more spacious now :D
