Interesting POS board...
« on: Wed, 09 September 2009, 01:27:00 »
What do you guys think of this one?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390087452731&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp3984.m38.l1313%26_nkw%3D390087452731%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

I saw it when when I was checking out the seller to see if they still had those AT101W boards for sale.

This POS board is new, has what looks to be a clear cap tray, is clear cap capable, has a key puller, and is that a track ball I see in the upper left?????

It looks like a rubber dome IBM.  They aren't that great from what I've read even compared to other rubber domes.

I'd recommend another POS board but I don't know of any real good ones.  The Cherry G81 series is pretty bad for normal typing - they seem to be designed for a quick punching in of numbers and codes.

That's a bummer, but the keys look like they would be worth it, yes/no?
It would be great to take em and transplant some onto another keyboard for shortcuts on programs like PS. Stick a note or something (I dunno be creative) under the clear keycap. Hmmm... I wonder what key stem they use?

A lock cylinder goes there.

IBM liked nifty locks.
