Can we still legally run Linux on a Sony PS3?
« on: Sat, 08 April 2017, 04:44:41 »
Was looking at some retro hardware that still run in decent speed, and thought of using Linux on PS2 and PS3.

I have seen some out there but people stopped talking about it, and found some lawful news reports between Sony and hackers.

Do some people still do that? --- Run Linux on a Sony PS3.

If it is possible, it's still much faster than a SparcStation or a NeXTCube.

Of course you can, if you own the hardware you have the right to do any modifications you want on it. Sony can choose to not honor the warranty and ban you from using it on PSN, but they have no recourse if you want to replace everything and turn it into a Windows 98 machine.
I proxy anything including keyboards (キーボード / 鍵盤), from both Japan (日本) and China (中國). For more information, you may visit my dedicated webpage here: https://www.keyboards.es/proxying.html
