I have both a DA 3.5g and a WMO 1.1 (I assume). I like to switch things up a bit, altering each week. I'm very interested in getting a IME 3.0 and a Xai. Should I consider getting one or both of these? I am just in love with my two mice equally.

Nice little collection you've got going there bud.  How big are your hands/what kind of grip style?

I was hoping to see the mico next to mx300 to compare size... the mico is in the mail currently.

Also have you found anything better than the steelseries grips...that sticky residue on the back that turns into gooey nasty stuff isn't cool.  They only last like 2-3months tops IME.

I have small hands. I'm mostly a claw grip but some 'palm mouses' feel very natural for me, like the Zowie EC2, kinda small palm grip mouse.

Razer Abyssus. I know some might be shaky about razer's products, but it had been the ideal RTS gaming mouse for me personally. Its featherweight is superb and for the cost (which you can find fairly cheap) its packs a heck of a punch. I've had no issues with the mouse at all.

Been using deathadders in all my pc builds for years. I have never had one fail. I have never had one squeak. I have never had the coating come off. It is essentially perfect for my hand, and I simply do not understand where all the hate comes from outside of razer's contrived marketing scheme, and lack of quality outside of the mouse realm.

No hate for razer, but I can't see a single reason to choose a razer mouse (as most of the other parvenu brands) over a good logitech.

At least a BW is mechanical and logitech has no mech keyboard in its line, but the mice ?

I use this one. Razer Diamondback 3g. I generally dont like Razer but i got this one because of the shape. I like how its more narrow on the bottom side. However there are two annoying things about it - The driver allows u to choose between 1800 dpi and 800 dpi. Only. You can still change the sensitivity but still. Also, with the drivers installed the middle click registers 2 middle clicks in Opera. And thats really unpleasant because I use it a lot to open new tabs. My solution so far - uninstall the razer driver (=.

I consider modding it soon - I want to disconnect that blue LED... Its just too bright and blue for me. But overall I like it, I feel like the shape makes up for the other downsides.

I switch between A4tech X-748K (X7 series optical, this: http://www.a4tech.pl/Item.aspx?ITEMNMBR=A4TMYS15917&GroupID=37&SubGroupID=72) and an $2.5 1000 dpi rubber-coated mini rodent from a Polish company (the quality of execution is better than on many top brand products and it has a red glow, lol... I do hold it to be an equal of "gaming grade" mice). Neither of them has a good shape and size for my hand, hence I'm looking for something new.

Logitech Trackman Wheel (older wired models, own a few)

does anyone have experience with the A4Tech X-748K? I actually like the shape of the Intelli Explorer 3.0 but I could need a little more dpi so the X-748K seems suitable for me. It's simply black with rubber finish on the sides. So for me the mouse shape itself looks interesting but I have no clue how this mouse performs or which sensor it has or if it has any known issues etc...Is it actually worth buying it, I mean it's not that expensive...

I use a logitech G500. I've been using it for a while, and it's a fantastic mouse. I don't think I could ever go back to a mouse without hyperscroll and side buttons. Also I love the shape and size. It works well for a palm gripper like myself.
Risen from the dead for a model F.

Hmm, odd. I rarely use the side buttons and the hyperscroll function on my G9x is rarely used. I can probably count the times I've used it on one hand.
Although the side buttons are very useful, there was a time where I couldn't use a mouse without.

There were also these great looking white 3.5G DA's without rubber coating -- the price is a joke, though. On that site there are also a lot of custom IME 3.0.

Arcane, the X-748K has an ADNS-3080. The usual drawback for that family of sensors is angle snapping, but it might depend on drivers/firmware.

Been using my old Habu the past few days, loving the shape. After a little research I found out that the DeathAdder is pretty much the same on the right side, while my Mamba goes inwards there. That detail makes a lot of difference, at least for me, so I feel sort of bad for buying the Mamba when I'd be better off with a DA. Though the wireless feature of the Mamba is pretty convenient.
Looks like I'll have to wait even longer before I can add a Lachesis to my collection as I'll probably get a DA sometime soon as the Habu doesn't like most of my mousepads.

Travelling now, but I have quite the mousefest going on at home at the moment - getting the feel of the newer general-purpose Logi mice as well as some other gaming mice. I've had the Imperator, G9x and Orochi for a while but I'm not a particular fan of any of them - so I added the CM, Mionix and Roccat recently, and will probably round it off with the new Steelseries and maybe the QPAD. I actually only have 4 PCs/Macs at home which use a mouse, but generally speaking I like to buy a whole bunch of anything at once so that I can actually compare in a worthwhile way, then toss out what I don't like.

So far it's early days but as a clawer-when-available, I'm warming to the Spawn.

crApple: Mighty, Wireless, Magic (& the tackpad too)
CM: Spawn
Logi: G9x, Marathon, MX Revo, MX Perf
MS: Wireless Mobile 6K, Wireless Laser 8K
Mionix: 5K
Razer: Imperator, Orochi
Roccat: Kone+

& a few others not really worth mentioning, but which still see some use.

Whilst I look for something a little better, my current mouse is Microsoft Wireless 5000. To be honest, I haven't been totally happy with the performance, it's been a little flaky unless I put the receiver on the desk near it, and the buttons seem to grind together occasionally, but that could just be me getting carried away whilst gaming. It's also a little bigger than most, which took some getting used to.

Also have an Apple Mighty Mouse Wireless, which is terrible and is regularly disassembled to clean out the scroll ball thing. Considering what I paid for it, it's a little bit of a let-down. Also have a Microsoft Wireless Mobile 1000, which I take with me when I'm working elsewhere on laptops, which I can't fault.

After 20+ years of using ball mouse, i got Razer DA in 2009. I had it for 3 months. The shape didn't fit my hand, since I tend to lift the mouse often. More important DA had duble click problem. When I pushed the left mouse button once it register twice click.  I give it back, because I didn't accept quality control issue with mouse worth 60$. I went back to ball mouse.

This year I get new WMO 1.1a. It's shape is perfect for me. I can lift it as easly as ball mouse. Some complains about loud scroll, but I don't have problem with it. My scroll is just like supose to be. I'm very happy with that mouse. And the price is bargain.

After decades of mouse use, settling on a Logitech that fit my right hand beautifully, I realized that a right-handed person needs to use a mouse with the LEFT hand, saving the dominant hand for everything else that is more important.

How I wish that I had realized this when Reagan or the first Bush was president!

It is a long slow process to re-train the left hand to be the mouse hand, but oh so important. Maybe if you do not use the number pad on the right it is slightly less significant, but you need to try it.

And if you do it less than a couple of weeks, you haven't done it at all.

just an idea. check it out.

I'm not sure I agree with you on that one. If you're using the mouse with your right hand, what are you doing with your left hand that's "more important"?

The only thing I can think on is typing, in which case you immediately move both hands the the keyboard, so the dominant hand is a non issue.

I got tired of my Logitech MX620. I realized that it was much too heavy, and no amount of teflon on the feet was going to solve that problem.

I really really liked the scrolling on the MX620, and I definitely wanted to get another Logitech mouse with the same kind of scroll wheel. So, I went with the VX Nano ($35 from this seller on eBay, but it was on sale for $32 when I got it).

I would prefer if it only took one AAA instead of two, and I do miss the thumb buttons, though I am close to being well adjusted to using the alternate left click buttons. Otherwise, I find that I like the smaller size and don't mind at all that the mouse is so small that it sits on my fingers instead of in my palm. I recommend it if you're looking for a small mouse.
