Northgate 101 Brand New
« on: Wed, 08 February 2012, 00:40:02 »
A few years back, when I still lived at home, my mom liked to go to auctions.

In one of the auctions, she won a pallet which included 5 brand-new Northgate keyboards (the most basic version). 101, from what I can gather from photos.

They included the amber-colored hardtop.

As they only had PS/2 (or was it the bigger pre-PS/2 connection?) I didn't use them for long, but I remember they were quite nice (but loud). I stored them away. They are still back at home.

Are they worth something?

What kind of keys are they? They are quite clicky, reminded me of a Model M I used to have. Are they Cherry switches or similar?

They are worth a lot, I would guess at least like $150 each. They are ALPS switches.

If you live in AZ you can try my keyboards. I usually keep plenty of different ALPS and MX and buckling springs.

Put them for sale here on these forums and see how high it can go.

If you sell all five you may then buy yourself a decent second-hand Mustang.  I'm presuming you can still buy them now.......
