I bought an orochi so I am hoping it is around the size of the small Salmosa. I for am a huge fan of small mice

The Orochi is very expensive, has a weird shape, and super heavy. Also the bluetooth mode is kinda useless, and the laser sensor is outdated.
I don't recommend it to anyone.

I plan to mod the Asian Salmosa with different switches, and with the sensor of the abyssus.

Eh, I've got a bunch of mice. I use a DeathAdder 3500 with my laptop, generally. Really like that mouse, although I'm thinking about getting the Black Edition because it looks so beautiful. I really do miss having easily accessible on-the-fly DPI switching, though. As a result of that, I'm using a Xai at my main desktop. That is a fantastic mouse. I would have to say that my absolute favourite, though, is my old SideWinder X5 which is now dead. That was the most comfortable thing ever. And, I've got a crap little Microsoft Basic Optical mouse that I use when I take my laptop to uni, because the desks there are way too filthy for my beautiful DeathAdder.
Current collection:
Filco Majestouch 104-Key, w/ MX Browns
IBM Model M 52G9700
Leopold FC200R, "white" w/ MX Clears
Ducky DK9008S \'Shining\', white backlit w/ MX Blues
Cherry G80-3494(LCYUS-2), w/ MX Reds for Portal Mod

Not mine, but I\'ve got access to:
Filco Majestouch Linear R Limited Edition, w/ MX Reds
Filco Majestouch 2 \'Ninja\' Tenkeyless, w/ MX Blues
Leopold FC500R, w/ MX Browns

Amen to that. I'm now on my second MX518 after i wore my first out after a few years. Still works minus the scroll wheel button and general wear. I ran on a MX510 before it.

I tried upgrading to the laser version but found that at low sensitivities it was unable to track and if i moved to quickly it would spaz out. I RMA it twice and Logitech then decided to send me a MX518 so i wouldn't have to go buy one.

I've yet to find a better wired mouse that fit my hand as well.

Logitech G500, switched from a MX518.
I love the grippy feeling of the G500 and its free wheeling.

I use the Roccat Kone

I got it because I wanted something different and it looked pretty cool. I like it although I have to admit that it can get very jittery if you do not have the right mousepad/keep it clean.

Has anyone tried out the ROCCAT Kone
  • ?  I have heard that it is the end all be all mouse but I am not so sure.  I think that the G500 is pretty great.....

Also, what is a nice laser mouse that goes to at least 3000CPI and is very light?  I would prefer something with an up-to-date sensor of course.  Just thinking about trying out a lighter mouse.... Thanks to anyone who helps me out with this!

I do not think the Kone is significantly better than any of the other gaming mice in any way (unless the Kone+ is drastically different) it has some bells/whistles that they advertise, but honestly they do not matter much. It is a good mouse, but I think you have to know when you buy it that you are paying a little extra for the looks, not for any practical benefits over some cheaper mice.

Here's an update of a small bit of my mice:

Yep, those are 1.1a ones. The black one is nice 'cause it feels smoother.

Right now I'm using a Razer Abyssus that I bought 2 months ago. Its great for SC2, I claw grip and so its small size and low weight allows me to run it at 3500dpi and just twitch it across my dual 24" monitors with ease. I also have a Razer Mamba that I used for a year and a half, which is a really good mouse, but more suited to FPS due it its size and weight. I keep it around for if I decide to crack open an FPS for half an hour when I just want to chill. I'm using them on a Razer Goliathus Fragged Control edition.

EDIT:

Oh and a WACOM Bamboo fun for photoshop ofc.

considering a coolermaster spawn right now. I used to prefer palm grip mice (well, and trackballs) but I had to admit to myself that I'm doing fine clawing around with the ****ty Logitech I currently have.

Not a bad choice considering it's using the ADNS-3090 and they apparently fixed the LoD/800DPI issue with one of the firmware releases.

I still don't give a **** about dpi and polling speeds beyond what humans can recognize and utilize though

the spawn mouse mostly excites me due to shape, button arrangement and that it seems to have some actual rubber inserts instead of that flaking off "rubberized" crap found on other mice. Plus the price is ok, which tends to help.

My keyboard collection is almost starting to rival my mouse collection. The only mice I have left to conquer that I feel a need for are the DeathAdder Black and Mamba. Although in all honesty I'll probably end up sticking to the IE 3.0 and the MX 518 (optical FTW).

I dont know I just stopped using my Kone because of slight tracking issues, not something that major, but to me just not quite as crisp as optical tracking like in the MX 518. Now I am going to try to sell that because I am not sure if I would be able to RMA since the tracking issue is fairly minor.

Got a Sidewinder X8 on the sole merit of it being very cheap currently with MS canning the whole Sidewinder peripheral line. So far liking it quite a lot to my own surprise. Will try it in some games a bit later, kinda busy day so far.

So yeah, after seeing all the disgusting things about the Valor I am definitely going to try refund if they havn't shipped it yet, or at least send it back as soon as I get it (maybe steal the Talent pad because I'm dodgy like that)

Now to see if the new Abyssus has jitter on the Talent... otherwise that looks like a kickass new mouse, might even get a G400 if I can bare to learn how to aim with angle snapping.

Agreed. One of the mice I use as well and I was lucky to have gotten a good one. Roccat has some serious QC issues. i know of someone else who had to RMA his 3 times in 2 months. Software is fantastic. But meant for big hands mainly.

The Mionix Naos 5000 is very good as well. Comparable for sure. tried one from a friend of mine. but also meant for Biggish hands.

And as much as I hate Razer, DA Black is a really good piece of work... Too bad about the DPI... Mamba is just crap...

While I liked the Zowie the prediction was noticeable and I switched to the deathadder. That and the large feet of the Zowie dragged a lot on my pad but its easy to stick some 1.1/3.0 feet on there like hyperglide. And the ec1 was like £50 here which is far too much for that mouse IMO.

Still using a Mionix Naos 3200. I can say with certainty I wouldn't buy another product from them though. The support is terrible, they can't answer a seemingly easy question(if the replacement mouse feet they plan on selling soon are made of the same material as the default mouse feet that come with the Naos.) The mouse feet wore out real fast which makes it scrape on my SteelSeries 9HD so I had to switch to my PureTrak Stealth(cloth pad) which I like just as much but it's still an annoyance.

Next mouse will probably be a Razer Imperator 4g(if the tracking issue is fixed, since they replace the glossy sides with rubberized ones) or the PureTrak Valor. The Logitech G400 looks nice as well though.
