I thought that the Cherry ad copy implied that the MX series switches had gold plated contacts. At least that's what I ASSumed that "MX gold crosspoint contacts" meant gold plating on the working bits. Now what "crosspoint" means I have no idea.
Staring into the remains of this poor MX8100 that I just savaged for its caps, stems, and springs, the little contacty bits certainly look as though they may be gold plated. Anyone have some HCl, HNO3, and a microscope that I could borrow for a few?
