This set will be introducing two new legends for the Fallout 3 fans: Vault 101, New and Improved Vault 13, and Nuka Cola (for all fans,  )

Ah, I see, so this will be another vault 13 key? Red probably doesn't work well with the vault 13 logo. If it was a nuka cola logo then it could work but I guess that may be copyrighted. Glow in the dark legend sounds better.

Well, if I were to create possibilities for spacebars, I would likely coordinate my own GB for them. PMK now has that pesky IC vote restriction before something can even make it to Group Buy status.

I was just curious about the Nuka Cola one. Not sure what the 'official' logo looks like. I am also not sure when to strike with the next GB either. People are just now getting their Vault 13 and Nuclear Data sets...

The game asset bottlecap actually shows that logo, though the artist improved the fidelity of it. I don't think this specific logo would be trademarked, but I can't be sure. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bottle_cap

When I get home I'll do a new mock-ups with SP color swatch matching. And Quantum is awesome, if only we could get GID blue plastic. Too bad we don't have the aptitude to make our own doubleshots. (Any idea what kind of machinery is needed to do professional-level key manufacturing? Genuinely curious these days...)

Don't know what you think for the "rusted" cap, there are so many colors of rust that you could choose from, but I went with a reddish (iron oxide) dull color and a dull gold to contrast pleasantly. Browns and beiges kinda look really boring with the red.

Is there a more baby blue color than BDH?

I think if we could find a Burnt Sienna color for the keycap but have the legend be like the Petina color of the statue of Liberty, that would look neat. Mogo, can you see about that? I have flexibility with this single legend now that it is a mold. I want to see us take these colors to the next level.

I am mindful of doing something like a Vault 21 or Vault 101, and even Brotherhood of Steel (though of my own vague design) but they would incur that dern $45 new legend fee each.

I think I could do something NukaCola'esque without violating copyright or trademark law.

And yeah, there are more baby-blue colors, but I picked one that landed somewhere between the navy color of the Vault resident uniform and the radioactive blue of a Quantum bottle.

Okay, so I just got the go ahead to use the double zero keycap legend from Samwisekoi. I am considering doing a full matrix of color choice with the Vault 13 legend, double zero legend, and a new vault 101 legend (once I finish it). I am thinking of having individual options available with their own MOQ's, like the way that Ivan does his GB's. If it tips, it goes, if not, it won't.

I personally think SA is fun and interesting, but i've never typed on a full set of it yet, and the SA/DSA hate on the forum is starting to bubble up because so many recent sets have used it. (At least, from the vocal complaints in the "unpopular opinions" thread, hating SA/DSA seems to be not-so-unpopular)

Yes...all of keypop's keycaps are made by SP. The ones in the picture of the portal keycaps were also made by SP. Thanks Frosty, I actually own those.

In Fallout 3 and F:NV you access the Pip-Boy with the Tab key. Would it be cool to have a Tab key that said Pip-Boy? I'm not sure if that would just be annoying or not...

Oh, and just out of curiosity, is 8 teeth around the Vault logo the smallest level of detail that SP can do? In game it's 12 teeth.

Each in their own series. This one builds upon the last one. The next one will build upon this one and so on.

Concerning faction logos, a lot of detail and risk of trademark infringement is what is keeping me away from them. These are ABS doubleshots with simple legends. Who knows what will be available in series III?

As for the vault 'gears,' I suppose 12 teeth would look great and thanks for the idea. I like the overall simplicity of the vault symbols as they are now. Besides the Series I Vault 13 keycap sold over 200 and tipped twice, so I must have done something right in the initial design.

Thanks for the ideas, future sets will likely feature some elements of what has been suggested so far.

Just to give an update, everything is set to go to IC on PMK. This darn Nuka Cola keycap is being a real pain in trying to shape it to the right sizing for Doubleshootiness ('s a word). Mogo and I are bouncing that one back and forth like a tennis ball.

Yeah, I figured that was part of it.  No biggie.  The caps are so small that the minor differences won't be visible and it's still instantly recognizable.

I had to widen many of the gaps and loops in the letters (like in the "a", "l", and "o" characters) and I completely opened the "k" character  because it looked horrible when I tried to inflate the loop to the minimum diameter. They need a certain amount of gap because of how ABS shrinks when it sets and cures. We also had to thicken all the lines because, again, if the letters were too thin they'd shrink and split (or something like that). All the work was done in illustrator, so it is vector work, not raster, and I think it'll look fine as a finished product.

Trust me everyone, Mogo and I had a time tweaking this legend to get it to specs. IMHO it is better than good enough. Mogo single-handedly saved this legend from being completely lost. I thought there was no hope for it and would have given it up completely. And I have to admit my patience with the tweakage ran extremely thin, if you can't tell, haha. Thanks again, Mogo!

I've fixed the mockup on the polycarbonate keycap because the doubleshot actually goes partially down the inside of the key, so you wouldn't see the stem so easily.

Doesn't PMK recalculate the shipping after the drop ends?  They have to adjust pricing based on the final order quantity (tiers) anyway, so you're getting a new (different) invoice in the end regardless.  Much easier to tack on the actual shipping amount to that.  I think what they've done in the GB is put a base shipping price on each parent & child deal so that if people opt to buy only 1 kit (like just the irradiated vaults, for instance) they still get a minimum shipping price on their order so they don't get a shockingly higher invoice after it closes.

Hack'd by Geeks might be another set/colorway that's worth considering, I say worth considering, as it's a limited run, otherwise it's definitely worth it
