Will you add more payment methods (PayPal),
or will Credit Card be the only option?
Anyway what about the wobble? Will they have the same wobble as gateron? I assume the manufacturer is gateron, since gateron made already custom switches like zealios and mod.
Okay, so here is the issue with paypal.
My account got shut down for "Excessive Risk" from my previous groupbuy. This occurred without any interaction from paypal. :'(
What do you guys think?

There sure seems to be a lot of risk here.
Totally unknown manufacturer, not widely tested yet (previous group buys have shown testing as part of a group buy is a horrible idea and almost always leads to major delays), no PayPal in case things go badly, maybe you have to click the link but I see no photos either.
I'm all about having the best magical switches but everyone coming up with their own flavor and charging crazy prices is really getting out of control.

I think a video showing more of the switch would be great. Not much is known except for what you're telling us and it would be great to judge for ourselves.

Thanks! Now demonstrate a sound test!
Who is the manufacturer? I'm thinking of combining these with a zeal housing instead of ordering gat clears. I am reluctant since the housing is pre lubed and it would defeat the purpose switching housings..

If this had've been posted yesterday I would've already purchased. So mad I went in on more 67g zeals and plan on buying gat clears to duplicate linear Zealios..
I'm one step away from being sold, just need to know about SMD lighting and how it would interact with the switch top (in terms of how visible the lighting will be).
Still waiting for paypal pay method. Is there any chance we can get that? Thats pretty discriminating people who dont have cc.Workin on it :thumb:

The Zealio casing is no different from the standard Gateron casing. Meaning swapping stems into them is pointless. If this had've been posted yesterday I would've already purchased. So mad I went in on more 67g zeals and plan on buying gat clears to duplicate linear Zealios..

Final question from me... will a gateron clear top fit if I wanted to swap it up?Yes it should, however it would need to be the smd compatible one. The casing is the same.

Hey all,

I'd love to jump in as I love smooth liner switch. However, It looks like the groupby website is offline. Can you please take a look at that? ThanksHmmmm, well this is frustrating.
67g bottom-out or activation?Bottom Out, activation would be crazy a 67g haha
Down for me too if it helps.

Not sure if it's been asked.. These are said to be factory lubed so are they lubed to the point where it's not really necessary to relube or are they just lightly lubed like the zealios?

This is what I'm curious about. And do we know the lube they will be using to lube the switches? Is it krytox?

They are lubed to the point where you don't need extra. The lube that we are using is in-house to the manufacturer.

-Website Stability has been improved.

PayPal has now been implemented into the website :thumb: (Please don't make me regret it, PayPal)
Let me know if you have any issues.
so tempted to buy but I have not stopped buying stuff the last 4 months....
This seems interesting but have you test about soldering? Melting point of POM material is around 175 degree C. This is pretty low for soldering.
If we heat pins so much, part of the pins might melt and loosen, not sure. If the bottom case is made with PBT, PPS or PEEK with glass composite.
So, made a decision how to continue with this GB?Sorry for the late reply, very busy at the moment. I have decided just to go ahead with it anyway and use my own money if I dont hit moq.
Would be sad to see this one canceled :(

The prototypes versions should be in by the 22nd, from there I will send out samples to trusted community members if I am happy with the results.

How long are the orders open? I'm not sure if I want to order yet, so I'd rather wait for the reviews
Any word on how the prototypes turned out?Hey! Sorry it took a bit, warframe absorbed my life this weekend.
Hello new wallpaper. The isometric renders are lovely. Would love to see a series of them for other switches tbh.

Thanks for the update. A few concerns.. As far as lubing, is the manufacturer aware of the lack of lubing and will correct this come mass production?Any word on how the prototypes turned out?Hey! Sorry it took a bit, warframe absorbed my life this weekend.
So I got the prototypes in on friday and I am very impressed with them. They are about a stock gateron at the moment, this concerned me at first but once I popped it open I realised they barely used any lube, so given that it has sufficient lubing it will be on par with gat blacks lubed. :thumb:
I will be sending out some samples to select community members :-*
To keep ya's interested, have some sub par images. I will whip out the 70D tomorrow and try to take some better images

NOTE: The prototype have copper capped pins, would you guys prefer that or just the generic stems? It makes no difference to me.

Also right now as it's being compared to gateron blacks, is the stem quality still holds true as being superior with much less wiggling?
Sorry for the questions but i'm sure many people have great plans for these soldiers as they were described to be super linear switches. ;)

... From what i could tell Gateron Yellow has consistent resistance from top to bottom where as Gateron Black has more resistance towards bottoming out. I was able to confirm this by doing a blind test where I mix in a Gateron Yellow with 5 Gateron Blacks and was able to pick out the Yellow correctly with my eyes closed multiple times...
Yes, if they aren't lubed properly, why stay with this GB instead of going with Gateron blacks. Not sure if the price tag is worth the reduced wobble.
Yes, I just finished some chats with them and this will be corrected. The current wobble is better than the initial prototype and is very minimal. I'll upload a video very soon :thumb:Thanks for the update. A few concerns.. I'm interested in this GB, but I also want to buy some switches that I'm going to use as I'm already quite happy about my Gateron black in the MX world. Its closer to a yellow than a black. Its pretty consistent throughout.
According to this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/453f0l/gateron_yellow_vs_black/ (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/453f0l/gateron_yellow_vs_black/)Quote... My question is, what is the force curve of 'Panda' linear similar to? Like Gateron yellow with more initial resistance and consistent through out, or like Gateron black with less initial resistance but increase towards bottoming out hence avoiding bottoming out?
Y'all got anymore of them fresh updates?

Yep got some fresh news now. Sorry for my recent silence. Real life caught up this week
So I got the manufacturer to produce a couple more that have the extra lube and they are being sent to me as we speak. I should see them in roughly 16 hours. Once I check them then I can order the full amount which will have a super quick turnover. :thumb:

Hey everyone!Any chance to see a picture of that key switch mountain of yours? I bet it's a rare sight.
Manufacturing completed on Friday and it is now in transit to me. It should be here just after Christmas Day. (Turns out that 50k switches is actually really heavy, 100kg in fact.)
Also sorry for missing your messages, my mailbox has been playing up and I didn't realise. I missed my secret santa email aswell so I am trying to get that sorted out.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Sorry for the lack of updates since Christmas. I had to go on a surprise visit to see family
I am back though and I do have some news. The switches have arrived in australia and are processing through customs. Its just a little delayed at the moment due to all the public holidays.
While the idea of a smooth and more wobble free linear is definitely tempting, I have to say the manner in which updates and demonstrations have been given does not exactly inspire the greatest amount of confidence in me. I would personally prefer a lot more information as to what changes were made to the switch between the prototypes and the switches that have been sent to you. Alongside this perhaps a test of the sound and wobble of the switches while mounted on a plate, from a top down perspective would provide more useful information as to how much the wobble has been reduced from the original gateron switches that you compare them to.
My current mood about this group buy is excited but tentative, please set my mind at ease.
Is this GB still opened?
I'd like to try this new linear switches if possible. ;D

Hot damn! When will the discount ends? And please tell me again these are less wobbly than MX, is it? Because it is my main concern regarding switches now. My MOD-M just arrived and it still wobbly while indeed they are less than Zealios/Gateron.

Hey man, may I ask what exactly it is you personally mean when you say wobble? Sorry I know this probably sounds like a stupid/very pedantic question but I'm just curious. I don't quite understand the issue that some people seem to have with wobble and stickering etc? From my limited understanding people either mean there is a wobble between the bottom and top of the housing, which is something I have never really seen or experienced myself even when trying to make switches wobble or twisting them in my hands (I've got cherry, gateron, zealios and mod switches in my collection currently). Or much more commonly a wobble created due to the slider not being completely snug within the housing which it is pretty much never going to be in an mx style switch. Even in this case I find the movement very minimal and I personally don't notice it unless I am purposely looking for it? Have I got the right idea here? I'm guessing it's just something I don't really notice/it doesn't bother me. Maybe some people are more sensitive to it or something? Would be interested to hear other people's thoughts on the subject too, thanks

When talking about wobble, it's mostly talk about the stem moving around the housing. It honestly doesn't bother me as much as it does for some people

Yeh that's what I thought. To me it seems like such a tiny thing it surprises me it's brought up as much as it is that's all. I guess I'm just one of the 'lucky' people that doesn't notice and it doesn't bother haha. I mean a switch functions using moving mechanical parts, I'm not expecting the stem to be 100% completely tight against the housing, would probably feel scratchy as hell =S.

I think that's also why Gaterons feel smoother than Cherry switches. There's a little more clearance between stems and housing and it cuts down on the scratchiness.
I used to not mind wobble until I replaced all the switches in my board with gatistotles. Now I can't go back, the lack of wobble just feels so nice.
Using low profile keycap like dsa isn't a big deal to wobble, but when it cones to SA profile, it makes you want to stop typing. Cherry profile falls between them, sone neglect the wobble, some can't tolerate it. Ymmv

;D UPDATE TIME ;D
Since getting everything in I have begun work on packing everything into packs of 110. I will be sending out 27's bathtub of switches soon aswell. He will be proxying for Canadian orders. My US & EU proxies will also be receiving theirs soon. If you are anywhere in Australia, you will probably get it earlier for what feels to be the first time.
I am also in the middle of moving houses, so this means that I need to move 100kg of pandas to my new "business" area (I will give photos <3).
Photos & Videos are rendering at the moment and will take like a day to upload (No joke, this is Australia).
Uhhh yeah I think that's about it. Ill get around to more specific questions once I'm done with the videos.
Bought some but didn't receive a confirmation email?

Hello

These should be heavier. Gateron yellows are 65g bottom out if I remember correctly
Are you outside of the US? Shipping always sucks for people outside of the US, which includes myself :(.I'm nervously waiting with my mouse over the purchase button waiting for the same thing.
Also how long will this $70 for 110 switches last for. I'm waiting for a detailed review of the switches :D.
Hey guys,
After having a dream about RAMA becoming a giant evil corporation I decided to redo the videos for extra quality.
However I do have 2 little presents for you. Its really hard to capture the white that the pandas are on the camera that I was using so they are a tad too beige looking, I tried to clean it up a little in photoshop with a minimal success. As I write this, however, my 70D is charging for the video and extra photos which will look much better.
I hope you enjoy.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/alRa3nW.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/VYQxX0V.jpg)

Is PCB mount give a firmer feel compared to plate mount? Assuming both them placed on board with PCB and plate. If the plate is doing its job I don't think its noticeable at all.

Is it still available to get a PCB mount version?
In the case that I order a set now will it ship out with the original group buy orders? I know you said you already sent it to your proxy but wasn't sure if the proxy was gonna keep a stock or not.

"By default it is plate mounted however if you send me a PM along with your order number/email I can get you a pcb mount version"
If I already ordered, is it too late to get the pcb mounted version?
I wondering too. I'm gonna order soon (probably).
Is it still available to get a PCB mount version?
Nope just send me a PM and we are all good.
So why would opening these be like to spring swap? Really greasy? Would it affect the lubed properties in any manner? Really want to buy these for my new mech27 but I have gold 62g springs waiting :(

I came to ask the same thing as the gold SPRiT springs are on MD.
Do you recommend getting some lube in if we plan to swap and if so do you have any recommendations?
If you really need gold springs, get the ones from mechanicalkeyboards.com They are in stock and only a buck more.So why would opening these be like to spring swap? Really greasy? dont buy those, sprit is a piece of ****
What is the predicted reliability like on these? If I recall correctly the Matias switches had chattering issues because the factory put too much lube into the switches.
Any word on when Canadians will be getting theirs?
Also how long will this $70 for 110 switches last for. I'm waiting for a detailed review of the switches :D.
Paging US and CA buyers, N3RDLY said he's gotten the first shipment of switches and will be sending them out soon for US. He also said the Canadian batch was received by the Canada proxy in the past couple days. Source is the newest topclack podcast episode.

I gotta say, as much as I like the product, these videos of you holding switches to demonstrate smoothness and wobble are really ****ing stupid.
I think he means the videos don't do a good job of demonstrating the switch's attributes. Not that the smoothness/wobble isn't important.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkA-hqzxfXU

I disagree. Wobble is important to me, because it strongly affects stability of SA profile keycaps. If I have the choice between more or less stablility when building a $600 board, I'd prefer more stability.

I'll be using a plate, but I have a question. As long as we are using a plate, we don't actually need PCB mount switches, correct? Do those two little prongs that go into the PCB provide any extra stability that I might miss if I get the plate mounted switches?

How do they stack up against other linear switches in your opinion?
I got my set the other day. They look nice with the ivory white and black stems. I definitely can see that they don't wobble much at all, which is pretty cool! But I don't know if I'd say they are super linear or lubed that great. However, I don't consider myself experienced enough with linear switches enough to dismiss them yet. Hopefully someone with more experience with linear switches can compare. I prefer the feel of my linear Gateron Clears with 65g springs and lubed over these switches so far. Probably will feel better in a board though and probably having to lube them personally.Someone said you should give them like a week to wear in. Don't know how true that is.

and some ALPS linears that I won't bother comparing them to - I like how rigid they feel. They deliver on the wobble front - there is very little. However, they are scratchy. Not new MX scratchy, but not Gateron/Vintage Black/Nixie smooth. I have been told, though, that they just need breaking in, given how new they are. If these end up being far smoother when broken in, they're winners.

Damn, so do the Pandas wobble less than Gaterons to you? I don't mind just bit less smoothness (as long as it is smoother than Cherry) if there is less wobble. In my experience Cherry switches wobble the least, so I always end up using those (the housings anyway) since wobble is like my enemy #1.

Yeah I'd say the wobble is equal to Cherry if not better possibly. Only problem is the scratchiness. I am going to open some up later tonight and lube them myself and see if it makes it any smoother.

Hey you two!
I'm really sorry to hear about this. Do you think you could pop a couple open on your end and check the lube? When I recieve the pandas they are in bags of 250 and about 50% of a mates order weren't lubed correctly. This leads me to believe one of the bags didn't get the full treatment. The stem should look like thisShow Image(http://i.imgur.com/hRnYcMA.jpg)
If its the case I can certainly send you both a full replacement set completely free of charge + A little sorry gift. Even though they were approved for QC from my manufacturer its a lesson for me aswell to double check QC.

Great tip, thanks. Success! Excuse the awful image, my photography skills are nonexistent. There is definitely lube in the right places on the slider. Something I noticed was that there was more so on the side pictured than the other, but that might just have been some coming off on my hands. :rolleyes:Appreciate it! I don't really have the tools to open the switch but I'll try and throw something together with paperclips.
I open switches with a tiny flathead screwdriver to open the little latches on the sides. You could probably get one for a couple bucks.
Hey zisb, is there any tracking on the packages? I got the 'order complete' email, but I kinda would have expected to receive it by now given I'm in Melbourne.Hey mate, I just checked all the shipments then. I couldnt give direct tracking as the Postie did it in a really funny way that means I can actually see which package is going where, just a rough idea :-[
Would you mind giving us a rough ETA on the EU orders, or at least some word on the current plan with them? Just for peace of mind. We currently know that you did the Aus orders directly and that N3rdly does the US ones, but iirc there was no concrete info about the EU orders yet.

given the reviews so far the price is kinda high - these are really aesthetic but the fact that they're scratchy even when lubed is really disappointingPeople have said that they have less wobble though, I'll have to see for myself when I get them. All switches are factory lubed to some degree so it may be the case that relubing it yourself will remove the scratchiness. The price matches up with other custom ordered switches like zealio and mod switches. I'm sure the price isn't worth it to a lot of people but I personally feel that zeals and mod switches were worth what I paid for them, and I'm willing to pay for these to try them out as well.

Groupbuy is over
G'day,
Today I am really happy to present to you guys a project that 27 and I have been working on for the last 4 months.
_____________________________________________________
This product is a collaboration effort between Mech27 and Invyr.
The goal of this project was to create the smoothest possible factory linear switch. The manufacturer we have chosen for this project has provided samples that (without our tuning) are already smoother than the Gateron equivalent. The switches are made from POM, the standard self lubricating material used in switches, which will ensure a consistent and lasting quality.
Our tuning includes a 67g spring, and additional lubrication on both the slider and housing. The moulds we are using for both the top and stem will be produced for our order.
For aesthetic purposes we have chosen to make both the top and bottom housings in a ivory white.
_____________________________________________________
The GB will be ran in parts.
Part 1
This is the initial buy period where you can get the switches the cheapest. After this period the price will increase mildly ($75 for 110)
Part 2
The order will be placed with the manufacturer, manufacturing of prototypes will begin, once prototypes are completed they will be tested, if anything needs changing, it will be. Select trusted community members will also receive the prototypes to review and test.
Part 3
Full scaled production will begin, this is only expected to take a week or two.
Part 4
Switches will be shipped. <<<< WE HERE BOIS
Part 5 - Forseable Future
Leftover switches will be available for sale on mech27.com and invyr.com

GROUPBUY HERE: https://invyr.com
I am currently based in Australia so shipping costs are based off that. I also will be using proxies for a cheaper cost. $8 flat rate for United States, Canada and Australia. $15 flat rate for rest of the world.
The product is sold in both 110 packs and individually. Buying in packs of 110 gives you the GB discount.
The MoQ is currently 10372/8250 Switches[li]SMD LED compatible
- It is $1 an individual switch, or $69.99 for 110!
- The switches will be getting a new mould to ensure lack of scratchiness
- The switches will be lubricated in factory
- By default it is plate mounted however if you send me a PM along with your order number/email I can get you a pcb mount version.
- 67g Springs will be in the switches
- They use an MX compatible linear stems
- The switches will fit in any MX Designed board, there are no significant differences to the housing other than the colour

Any update from people who have had these for a bit? Just got mine in and they're pretty scratchy. Curious if they do actually break in or what.

Ooh, that sounds cool. Zealios purple in the off-white housing probably look really nice. Any pics just to sate my interest?
Not sure if I got unlubed Pandas, but in the very beginning, they're much scratchier than vintage blacks or Gaterons. After a day of pressing switches, they've gotten smoother. I have 10 smoother Pandas after 2 days of owning them.
This is how I rate unlubed linear in terms of smoothness:
- Gaterons in Zealio housings (wobbles) = Pandas in Zealio housings
- Vintage Blacks in Zealio housings (wobbles a little less) = Stock Vintage Blacks
- Stock Gateron Yellows in black bottoms
- Worn in Pandas = Gateron in Panda housings
- Dyed Gateron Clears in stock Gateron housings
- Fresh Pandas = Vintage Black in Panda housings
- Pandas in Gateron housings (Really bad IMO)
- Cherry MX Reds
IMO doesn't live up the stock lubed switch that's better than stock Gaterons. There is also a weird sensation when bottom out, like a small bump at the bottom of the switch, and on the upstroke. Maybe mold defects or lack of lube coverage?
I need to pick some Krytox 104 lube and report back.

Thank you for putting this together! So worn in Pandas are pretty similar to stock Gateron yellows. For the worn in Pandas, did you just kind of use them occasionally over the course of a week?
Also, were you able to confirm whether your Pandas were lubed or not? And are they as stable as Cherry in your opinion? Stability is really more important to me than smoothness. I'd be interested in how Pandas in Cherry housings feel (with lube).

So it looks like the best of both worlds is to buy Zealios and Pandas, then stem swap between the two for super smooth linear switches and super tactile switches?

Never thought about it until now, but that seems to be the case haha. If you want a stable linear switch, I'd just lube Pandas or just do Cherry MX.

On another note, Zealios in Panda housings are really tactile!
I'm actually really glad to hear someone else say this - I too felt like they were scratchy and there was a bit of sticking on the upstroke. I thought I was going to get the pitchforks and torches on /r/mk for saying they needed lube for those exact same reasons when these were toted as being slick pom and lubed for good measure anyway. What i found was that when i opened it up, the slider was dry and the lube was still blobbed in the post and hadn't spread out yet. And so after i spread it all around (I also put a bit on the back where i pointed out in the photo above) it got smoother i think.
I think i'll swap these into my Ducky for work and put some hours on them. :thumb:
Still waiting for mine also (in the US). I want to play with the pandas also :(
Here (http://imgur.com/a/1eAcm) is my first impression of the switch.100% agree with everything you mentioned. Thanks for saving me time to write my own review.

It looks like the cylindrical switch legs are actually some sort of holtite. Pretty nice!

Custom mkb switches + massive niche board game = best photo.
(I'm delayed on my next planned build because Gloomhaven is taking up the table where I typically do my soldering)

Edit: did you try to lube them yourself? Seems to me that the factory lube sounded good in theory but just can't be as nice as a good personal lube.

Just got my switches as well and agree with many of the impressions already given in this thread.
Stock Pandas are scratchier than stock Gateron blacks, but less scratchy than Cherry blacks.
So I opened the stock Panda and saw very little if any lube. I applied GH v4 thick lube from Zeal to the sliders and to the sides of the Panda stem. This very noticeably improved the smoothness, making it actually smoother than a stock Gateron black. I did not try adding GH v4 lube to the stock Gateron, because I am quite satisfied with the smoothness of the lubed Panda.
I also tried a few mods. I put the Panda slider in a Gateron housing, a Zealio (Gateron) housing, and a Cherry housing. While this improved smoothness to varying degrees, all non-Panda housings resulted in a bit less stability than the Panda housing. The Gateron housing had the most wobble; Cherry had only slightly more wobble than the stock Panda. This is probably the most stable switch I've tried.
I would highly recommend adding some GH v4 thick lube to these Panda switches. I will also be using 85g SPRiT edition springs, and am pretty excited about my build now. The only drawback is waiting for the PCB mount Panda bottoms to come in.

I would be wary of putting in the Zeal's thick lube. It's designed for tactile switches. I talked to Zeal about this, and he said that he also doesn't recommend it. It ends up making the switch pretty gummy.
I'm planning on using Zeal's lube but i'm a bit hesitant now after reading what people have said.Mine feel super smooth and buttery with Zeal's thick.
Order #79 from Canada, still waiting....
Any update on this?
Another Canadian here waiting.. update would be great thanks!
Has anyone who paid by PayPal received their order yet?
Has anyone who paid by PayPal received their order yet?Yeah, I have.
Been playing around with these a lot lately (not on a board, unfortunately) to figure out what switches I want on my next build, but something has been really bothering me.
There is definitely a bump near the bottom when pressing down. I'm not sure if it's the stem or the housing, but I think that gumminess some people are feeling might actually be that bump. Someone else did explicitly notice a bump earlier, though. It is much more emphasized if you press it down at an angle while pressing down. The side that you have to push towards changes for every switch it seems like. That slight tactile feeling is really ruining the experience of these switches for me :/
Also if it helps anyone else, I tried using MechLube 2 (only lube I got) and it doesn't really do much.
These switch housings looks so cool. Tempted to get PCB switches once available, but the reviews are scaring me.Same but reviews actually seem good to me if you break them down. So everyone is saying that there is little wobble which is great. Then everyone is saying that they are scratchy which just tells me they need some good lube or for the existing lube to break in. So I feel that once properly lubed you will have a smooth non wobbly switch

Still waiting on my 220 switches US order. Went ahead and ordered 220 Mod Linear switches off O-co as well.Let us know how you find the Mod switches! I bought their tactile switches before and liked them after lubing, they were a tiny bit scratchy before that.
Hopefully one of these lives up to the "new Vintage Black" billing.

I think gaterons fill that void already. At $35 for 110 gaterons vs $70-ish for 110 mods which are essentially just gateron clones, is it really worth the extra money?
Anyone know approx up to what order number has shipped? #183, US here and just curious. Thanks

I was order#60 and I received mine last week. It was shipped in a USPS small flat rate box w/o tracking.

I'd pay an extra $35 to save myself 3 hours of switch lubing.

Did it ship from zipcode 94002 (California)? Someone just printed a shipping label to me from that zip.

From the sounds of these switches you're still going to have to lube them.
Ok folks, so I've done the deed and swapped out all 108 of my daily driver keyboard from cherry blacks to the new invyr pandas... and put it through the work week of typing out various commands and ticket comments as well as piles of emails. And so heres my brief review for those that are still wondering whats the big deal about these switches: Heres my full album of this board: http://imgur.com/a/si7Ql
The board they went into was a Ducky 9008, basic run of the mill fullsized well made keyboard. I desoldered all the cherry mx blacks and swapped in the Pandas:Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/UBzNkub.jpg)
Swapping them out was fine. The added size of the "holtite/sip sockets" was a non-issue and worked perfectly.
Soldering used less solder to fill the joint and this resulted in easier clean-up of the rosin as well.
No problems at all.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/W9HGPuv.jpg)
Right off the bat you can feel the lighter spring weight making it easier to type away with out missing letters or key strokes on your pinkies. As much as I love the stiff springs I have to admit that when it comes to actual use, the lighter springs are nice.
The sound is the first thing i noticed. I can tell that these are much more of a "pop" than a "clink" if that makes sense. There is definitely a break-in period for the very small amounts of lube in each switch. I would say 10 hours or so gets you in to the normal mode of the switch where everything smooths out and things start to feel glassy.
Solid. I cant reiterate this enough but these switches are just cemented together. I have a habit of wiggling the key caps in a hover while i'm thinking about what to type and these are just rock steady. Almost no wobble at all.
Overall i think that once you get away from micro-scrutiny of holding individual switches up and comparing each in your ear I think people will find that these are incredibly well made switches that have been put together very well. There are plenty of factory assembled switches that go for this rate and the fact someone put these together by hand makes them worth it for me. I do like some vintage blacks, dont get me wrong. But even those require a bit of tweaking to get them to 'korean kustom' level of endgame. These are breaking in nicely with about 50 hours of typing since I loaded them up. I definitely recommend grabbing a set and trying them out.
Thanks!
I remember seeing a post somewhere but wanted to check. Aristotle stems fit in these housing? Had heard certain switch tops don't go well with stotle stems.I only tried it with one, and it did fit, but I do believe that Aristotle stems can have some inconsistencies. It felt...different. I much prefer the Gatistotles and Zealiostotles to the Invyrstotles.

Thanks for the review OfTheWild, do you feel like it would make a difference lubricating the switches now that you've used them for a solid amount of time?
Plus, anyone got updates on when the rest of the switches will be heading out with zisb having personal issues to deal with? Is anyone helping to get these switches out? And did anyone ever confirm who's sending out the Canadian switches?
;D UPDATE TIME ;D
Paging US and CA buyers, N3RDLY said he's gotten the first shipment of switches and will be sending them out soon for US. He also said the Canadian batch was received by the Canada proxy in the past couple days. Source is the newest topclack podcast episode.

I didn't have any problem using 70 of them in Zealios housing, but I imagine that there's more room for the sliders in those housings. I know making Cherristotles is supposed to be a bit of a crapshoot. The Invyr housings seem pretty tight, so I'd have some concerns making a large batch of them.I remember seeing a post somewhere but wanted to check. Aristotle stems fit in these housing? I'll try adding an Aristotle stem into a Panda housing when I get home. I can attest to the inconsistencies in Aristotle stems. My favorite switch is a Cherristotle, and about 5 of the hundredish Aristotle stems didn't fit correctly I'm the Cherry housings. The rest fit perfectly and offer more stability than Zealiostotles.
Btw I tried 3-in-one silicone lube on my Pandas and it's been wonderful. I prefer it to think lube because it works just as well to smoothen the accuation, but allows the switch to slide up and down a little more freely. The GH thick lube v4 seems to add just a bit of noticeable drag of the switch comparatively.

I'm looking to buy 5 - 10 on these if anyone wants to sell me any. I don't know what the aftermarket price is ( I'm thinking $2 per switch?) but give me a price in a PM if you can spare some. I'm in the US, Berkeley CA to be exact.
UHHHHHHHHHHH I wasn't informed about being the Canadian proxy. I paid for 15,000 switches and received 15,000 switches. I'll talk to Zisb about this asap.

Got a label creation notification last night for what I assume is my switch order. So if you're in the US, the orders are being worked through. Hang tight.
From Belmont, CA? I got one too and had no idea what GB it corresponded to.

Finally got my switches and they are definitely scratchier than my unlubed Vintage Blacks. Swapping the stems into Zealios housings makes them almost as smooth as unlubed Vintage Blacks however. Curious to see how lubing improves the feel of the switches. Please do a review about your findings later. The pandas sure look great and i don't mind re-lubing these (even though these were marketed to be prelubed.. 😑 ) i just want to make sure they feel great as well without swapping a bunch of things..Someone mentioned a 'pop' at bottoming out and also the panda housing is 'scratchier' can these be confirmed by multiple sources? Thanks guys.
I've got a bunch of springs and lube and will be experimenting and this weekend. I've got Gateron Blacks, Mod Linears (awful, awful, switches), Vintage Blacks, Cherry MX Silents, and various housings/lube/springs to experiment with.
Just got my Pandas in. Might pop them into a build this weekend, see how the feel on a board initially. That's if I can peel myself from my Switch coming in today...Need to wait for my EXENT for these switches

Just recently got a response back from Zisb concerning Canadian orders (possibly the rest of the orders even)Every last order is going out on monday the 6th. :thumb:
Hello everyone!
As of today 100% of remaining orders are going out this morning. So that includes Europe, Asia and canada.
I know I haven't been the best of groupbuy managers. Once all these are sent I will be doing a full write-up about the issues of the switch, the groupbuy and more. In this writeup I hope to give an insight as to what has been happening and I will also be discussing the solutions to these issue and how I hope to move forward.
So... Do the switches need time to "break in" or should I lube them?
Thank you! :thumb:
Sounds about right unfortunatelySo... Do the switches need time to "break in" or should I lube them?

I feel like the answer no matter what is to lube them, even if there is a "break in".

Hey zisb, regarding shipping, Rama is also a keeb enthusiast based in Australia, and his stuff seems to ship out pretty quickly (I believe he uses DHL ecommerce), perhaps it would be good to have a chat with him and see what his recommendations are about different international shipping offerings.

Whaaa? Which is that? :(
Send me a PM on slack and I'll sort it out man :)
Those where all shipped using my old shipping service - moved to using DHL now and it's been 1 week to Canada :D
ZISB: check out DHL eCommerce, they've been amazing so far - haven't got the bill yet though :p
Does anyone have recommendations for shipping services that don't mess around? I have had too many issues with auspost to continue using them.

You want to call DHL eCommerce and ask for a deal on X amount of packages either via parcel or global mail. That's your best option.

I can reverb that, they give you shipping rates depending on your estimated monthly shipments. I spoke to them at length about how what I do is very inconsistent in terms of quantity etc, and even stated that I may go months without shipping anything and they where understanding - the rates are locked in for a year anyways :) They even came and dropped off some supplies to me to get started - very great customer support. Couldn't recommend them enough.
The specific services I'm using are DHL Global Package and DHL Global Package Plus
So I spoke to auspost and they basically just shrugged. I'll just resend, it's no biggie there are slot of leftovers anyway. If you get two packs then so be it! :thumb:

Hey all!
A few of you might have seen me around from my ridiculous optimism on multiple GB and IC threads. For at least the next little while I'll be helping zisb with communications (like he'd said he'd try and find someone to - that turns out to be me!).
The remaining orders that are outstanding from the Panda buy are all going out this week. From this point on there are no more proxies, your orders are being shipped directly by zisb himself. The size of the buy has backlogged the back-end a little but it will all be sorted soon. Also, quite a few orders have already been shipped out, but because everything is being shipped from Australia it will also be slower than usual.
Barring any unexpected problems, I'll have another update for everybody on Thursday morning (I'm in EST - it's currently my Monday night) with whether the shipping is still on track to be completed this week or not.

Still nope. Got a board here waiting on these switches for a long time now...
Worst part is that I could have bought them multiple times over from other vendors selling them and had them in hand by now.
Even us in south east asia which is literally next to aussie haven't received our switches..
Hi again all,
All shipping is completed. But as mentioned before, Australian mail is the definition of snail mail. It'll get to you all soon but be patient! Can't wait to see people's confirmations and reviews.
:)
I'm holding my breath!
All shipping is completed.
All shipping is completed.
Well, that may be.
But I for one never received anything (Germany - so no "Autralian mail is snail-mail" excuse here).
I understand it's been a long wait, and unfortunately, I don't have access to individual ordering information so I can't tell you how recently your order has been shipped, but I am guaranteeing that it has been shipped. It will get to you.
So you lost the first shipment 4 month ago and now you shipping it again untracked?
So you lost the first shipment 4 month ago and now you shipping it again untracked?
None of what you posted has any basis in reality. :(
Read my posts again. I don't have access to personal ordering info because I'm volunteering my time to help with communications.
Phrasing attacks as questions is unproductive, especially when you speculate that shipments were lost or were shipped untracked (both are assumptions on your part).
I will try to find out more details about your personal order (I understand you have a decent amount of money tied up in the buy).

Hey everyone,
I'd like to announce to everyone that if you have been affected by shipping delays, I will be offering R2 to you free of charge granted you can pick up the shipping cost for it. I will email those affected with further details down the line.
Well then please help me out, what happened to the shipments?
Also I'm wondering if there is a status available on the PCB mount switches. It's cool if they're not ready, just hoping for an update since we are still waiting for those.
Anyone got amything yet?
I'm about to order some other switches for the build these were supposed to go in :/

Not yet. Gonna go with regular Gateron blacks for now and save these for the next build (whenever they decide to show up)
Hey Cactus, any chance you have an ETA or a rough idea of when we could be getting our switches, and when we should be concerned with our packages being lost?
It sounds like I am the exception to the rule but when I ordered a few of Rama's things before he moved to DHL, Auspost seemed to work very well to the UK. I was actually surprised how fast it was =S.

At this point in time I don't believe anyone who has a delayed order has received their shipment
Maybe we'll get our GB orders when 1upkeyboards restocks the R3 of these for the third time, haha.
No but seriously, I'm ****ing disappointed. If this was an all out scambuy I'd probably be less pissed than now where everyone outside of the US and AUS is treated like a second class citizen.
Edit: maybe this was a bit much.. Still very pissed by now
I've had AliExpress orders placed and shipped in the meantime via the slowest free shipping method from China that have arrived and still no sight of my pandas in Canada. I have a hard time believing that AusPost can actually be this slow.
Hey all,
So I haven't gotten an answer from zisb on what the time estimates are. The only news I got is that the orders have already left the country and should be arriving soon.
He also said a few orders never left the country because Auspost switched their order mailing system from a click-and-send method to a different one - for those orders he said he'd contact the people affected directly, and that shipping would be done with DHL.
I'm sorry that the news I have isn't better, or clearer. But I promise I've asked again if he got an estimate when he shipped out originally for how long it should take and will let you all know if and when I get answer.
Some info on INVYR-146 would be kindly appreciatedyeah, infos would be nice

He also said a few orders never left the country because Auspost switched their order mailing system from a click-and-send method to a different one - for those orders he said he'd contact the people affected directly, and that shipping would be done with DHL.
I'm sorry that the news I have isn't better, or clearer. But I promise I've asked again if he got an estimate when he shipped out originally for how long it should take and will let you all know if and when I get answer.
Hey everyone,Are we supposed to get the tracking info via email?
Please check your emails. I am really ****ing sorry. I am trying to my best but I am going through shipping hell.

Anyone participating in the Hasu FC660C controller GB should be getting an email soon about their controllers being shipped out from Japan. There shouldnt be an excuse to not have these switches delivered by the time these controllers are delivered.

forgot to mention that I recently received my FC660C controller from the mail yesterday and that was from japan. unless i am quite mistaken by how shipping works in certain regions, delivering the switches should take approximately the same time if sent out properly correct? (can someone who has more knowledge about this sort of stuff key in on if what i am saying is true or not?)
Thanks for being transparent about the problems but without any plan or date/deadline for when you plan to ship and make good on the orders that have been waiting a very long time there is nothing for us to look towards. It would be nice to see a commitment and some sort of intent to follow through with it.
Did R2 fix the issues with the first lot?

Just got an email asking for my phone number.
Looks like its getting really shipped this time. Hopefully.
Thanks Zisb! :thumb:
I got nothing still. :(
these switches are available to buy right now from 1upkeyboard.

they restocked them already for the second time... my noveltykeys switch tester has a panda on it... I ordered that thing like 3 month ago.
he's literally sending out boxes full of them for month now.
In 10 days from now, by FTC terms, this will be considered fraud since no refund was offered.

you gotta be kidding...
If I am not mistaken, he just funded and bought his switches, and isn't part of the fulfillment of this group buy.

I could apparently just order them directly at the factory and start selling them myself, like everyone else does for 4 month now, and I would probably get them faster.
That is yet another level of ****ed up.
27 has had them for at least a few weeks now. I considered buying more from him, but I'm hesitant given that he has also been having shipment/fulfillment issues with his GBs: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=84703.900
I think 1UpKeyboards is the best bet right now.
So serious WTF is going on? Three times it was promised that shipping will happen but no updates and no tracking. Meanwhile all these commercial sites are getting theirs and selling it. Either he refunds all his outstanding orders or we submit PayPal disputes and claims for mail fraud
Hey All,
The switches ended up getting picked up by DHL on the 26th. the cutoff for Friday was at 2pm so I had to wait the weekend /shrug. At the moment I assume they would be processing in Sydney, as soon as they have been processed you should receive the tracking number from DHL themselves, not me (sorry for the change), so keep an eye out for that.
I'll keep you updated as I learn more on my end. I am a little inexperienced with DHL's shipping system, however they have been really fantastic in assisting me and answering my queries.
From here I guess I will begin work on the R2 switches for you guys. I want to have some prototypes made asap so I can get them out to you. I had some early ideas for materials CNC machined for me to test with promising results, so I'll see how it goes. If you have anything you want to see form them let me know aswell, I'm always open to suggestions.
If you have any questions, dont hesitate to contact me. I do prefer email as its easy for me to manage, unlike reddit/gh PM's. Also if you would like to have longer conversations with me, feel free to hit me up in discord PMs. I am a member of the /r/mk discord so it should be pretty easy to message me.
I think that covers everything, at-least for now.
Best Regards,
Jack
Received my round 1 switches today in the UK :thumb:
Hmmm... anyone from Canada getting theirs yet? And did anyone actually get tracking numbers from DHL like he said there would be? Haven't seen any emails regarding tracking numbers yet

That is a negatory on both tracking number and receiving of order
I also didn't receive an email from DHL. I'd like to ask for my tracking number since my local post wont let me know if I have a package if I don't have a tracking number.
I was able to ask Zisb for my tracking. Thank you so much! :thumb:
Looks like it went to Germany and back to me to Philippines. It's so close.
Can't wait to try em.

Maybe today, or tomorrow, or next week

Probably held hostage at customs
Picked mine up from customs here in Berlin today :D
Only 163 days
Would love to read some impressions from those who used these switches by now and if possible a comparison between Pandas and the new tooling cherry switches .
I've used both. Retooled blacks seem to be better. In my opinion, Pandas are only worth it if you want to use the housing to make money switches with Zealios.
If your missing your switches, please send me an email (zisbmail@gmail.com) so I can sort out what happened.
I sent out the remaining orders almost a month ago, so if for whatever reason you still haven't received them please let me know ASAP.
Any news on R2/panda v2?
Hey everyone,
I'd like to announce to everyone that if you have been affected by shipping delays, I will be offering R2 to you free of charge granted you can pick up the shipping cost for it. I will email those affected with further details down the line.

Still no news? Why is Panda so expensive and people eager to spend $4 per switch happily? this is becoming madness.

From what I’ve read on reddit, seems like the mold? For the panda switches was destroyed after the first run. Supposedly the trial r2s have been lackluster. Hope is grim for new pandas.

why tf would you destroy the mold and not just give it to someone to put on a shelf somewhere? That seems pretty dumb.

IMHO much better than bsun for tactility. Is panda+halo that good?
Worth $3/4? Absolutely not.
Good? I prefer clear+panda or zandas but halo+panda is good, or said better is unique. Apart memes, i see why people want to spend so much on them, it's a unique combination which produces a really unique feedback. Not my type of switch, but really particular.

I had some 78g Zilent Pandas up until I got Box Royals through. For me, stock Box Royals were better than Panda combos (Albeit havent tried Halo + Panda). Then I lubed the Royals and they got even better. After trying this, I instantly sold all the Zilent Pandas I had.
IMO Box Royals are better and are $0.50 a switch.

I think it's a total different type of tactilty, sharp vs long tactility.
I prefer zandas/ergopandas for royal, but royal is pretty tactile (but really different from other tactiles). Holy pandas are less tactile imho, but what makes them good is the way you feel that tactility, is really weird and particular.
Will be there R2? please i want this as much as sucide

0.5 each for Kailh is still way over priced. Cost is probably less than 10c each
Massdrop is making good money out of this drop.

I nearly purchased a pack of 70 for $105 and then backed out and waited - then the Massdrop drop was announced. Was getting kind of ridiculous for the halos.

Mechmarket on Reddit. Made a post offering PayPal or tutoring and paid PayPal (expectedly). Very excited to compare holy panda vs zilent, zanda, box royal, and bke lights.

I guess with the caveat that I don't get pestered to sell. I made my post looking for 60, he asked me if I would buy 110, I said yes, he had another offer for $20 more but said he'd sell to me since I agreed first if I'd match the other's offer, which I did. In total, including fees & paypal, I paid $180 for the 110.
