I'm not sure what you're basing this off of, but I've had the pleasure of using gateron blacks for about a month, and found them to be absolutely lovely.

meh, like more Gaterons --> less people to be interested in his Topre because market forces? IDK how this guy thinks but unless he is giving some concrete proof on why Gaterons are terrible, im calling him out for bs.

If you check a Cherry switch they have a round cut in the main body of the switch, in the LED holder notch, that allow the installation of both squared or round shaped LEDs.

But I'm pretty sure that this particular part of the switch is designed the same way than the cherries.

FWIW, I currently use two 60% (a GH60revB and a FaceW) and a full size (Filco Majestouch-2) with stock Gateron blacks. No complaints from me.

I'm down to about 20 Gateron black switches left, so I need my GB switches to come soon. :)

Okay.. he may not actually have proven to me that they are terrible ;0    I did enjoy your small review of the Gateron blacks a while back tho.. I plan on using them whenever I attempt my first keyboard build.. Hoping one of the rare TKL projects comes in at an affordable price range that won't make my wife lose her **** ;)

I just built an Ergodox with Gateron clears w/ 62g springs.   The switches are much smoother than stock Cherry MX switches, which feel scratchy in comparison.   Although I think they could still benefit from a minimal amount of lube.  Given the price of the Gaterons, they are absolutely fantastic.  I'm really looking forward to getting some blues/browns.

Is the last picture a lubing station?

Really love the last shot! It makes stock Gateron with stickers almost look better then clear tops to me!  :thumb:

For the frosted case clear was probably the way to go, but snap would those look smexy on a dark plate... Ö_Ö

The last picture is of someone's keyboard that was being sold recently in the classifieds, it was the only picture I could find quickly with Gaterons that didn't have leds installed. The other pictures are mine.
