update: sorry life got busy, have not had time to make any more. A friend has helped with making an entire set of these, but we have not had the chance to make molds

What material is that Zergling cap made from? It looks kinda rubbery from the picture but that could just be the finish. Also, I'd be interested in a cap.

A friend is working with me to make more designs, he's much more skilled at sculpting these than I am. I'm better with the casting of these keys, we're working together to bring more of these keys to you guys

I would really like to buy one. It is nice to support the DIY guys. I have one of nubbinator's tall smile face caps that is very different from what anyone else makes kind of like this is exciting and different.

let me go through my albums to find a pic, I still have it anyways so I can always take another one

I would love a full set in that material it looks like sandblasted titanium or really worn aluminum but it's half plastic sill

i actually lost the gun metal powder for that color... I need to find what I bought before and get it again, that's why the above keys looks more matte gray than metal

trying to cast without a degasser so i'm getting tiny bubbles here and there, some comes out perfect though

I may have a few for sale soon, my first batch from yesterday just finished the post-cure, i'm testing their fit and durability

edit:

sorry for the slowness, I've only got 1 mold and it takes about an hour for each one to harden enough to be removed from the mold, and if you include the ones that comes out messed up, I've only been able to make 4-5 a day.

lighter keys would be lighter in weight than the darker counterparts, I would need to use a different material, a white urethane as a base with dye

lol... poly is going to be hard, I went to the materials shop today and epoxy looks promising as a clear, though they do have the issue of yellowing over time.

I might have forgotten to mention that these keycaps are 60%-70% aluminum, so that it weighs in around 2grams and is cool to the touch

so sadly the stem to the prototype mold broke.... I will not be able to make more until I have time to buy more molding silicone....

do not worry, the original zergling key is still safe and sound with me, I will be able to make more as soon as I get more material to make the new mold

the lady that works at the advance material shop said i chose the worst material for mold making, it has the lowest tear strength of the entire product line
