[IC] Dendrogram | 8-key Macropad with a Motorized Fader
« on: Tue, 15 September 2020, 12:33:08 »
A little background to what made me start working on this project, So I was getting tired of having to go into windows volume mixer to change individual application volume. I wanted something that I could choose what application I was editing. But then I came to the problem of not knowing exactly where volume was, so I decided to use a motorized fader.

INCOMES THE DENDROGRAM

The Dendrogram is an 8-key macro pad with a motorized fader. The fader will move to the location the volume is set at for the application you are trying to change. There are still a few things that are needed for the Dendrogram but I am aiming for a GB in a few months.

SOFTWARE

We are still in the process of creating the program that is needed for the dendrogram.
There will be a standalone software needed for the dendrogram and from there you will be able to select what applications you want where or if you just want a key to be a multimedia function. etc

SALES

As of right now, I am looking at selling just the barebones version to gain some traction, however, if there is enough demand for an aluminum case I can make it happen.
For the GB I will be providing everything needed for the Dendrogram. I would like to have USB-C pro micros that are used or I am going to put everything on the main pcb itself.
For price of the barebones unit I would like to have it around 50-70 usd however this price is not locked in.

MORE INFO

If anyone has input on the design or would like to see a specific feature they think would be good. Please put it in the comments!

Oh man I haven't done sound mixing in a while and I miss the feel of those newer Allen & Heath faders. This looks like it could lead to some really cool A/V applications among many other things. GLWIC

This is literally perfect for me, I would be interest in an aluminum case as well or at the very least case files for 3d printing!

Which operating systems will be supported by your software?

Nice idea!

Very curious to see how this plays out.
I'm assuming there's no midi support?

We are mainly working on windows right now, however we are going to hopefully have support for Linux.

Very curious to see how this plays out.

We are planning on adding midi support if all goes how we are planning on doing it, there should be quite a few functions for the Dendrogram.

Want to say thanks for the positive feedback so far on the form!

Woah this would be HUGE if it happens. My mind is swimming with all the possibilities. Throw on top the appropriate kit of KAM Playground and you've got a REALLY nice accessory for a music producer's desk.

Motorized? I can't imagine a reason that anyone needs this.

...I'm in for 1

I want to give an update and let everyone know that this project is not dead!

Mostly just delayed because of college classes.

I am hoping to have everything ready for a GB during the summer, and fulfillment sometime around Q4 2021 or Q1 2022.

I also want to show everyone the case version we are also working on!

We are still in the process of refining the case and giving it all the features it needs.

If you have any feedback let me know!

Thanks for looking!

Wow, this is actually a really cool idea, extra points for originality. I have a couple of friends in audio production, I wonder if they would find this useful.

i do not know what i could even do with it with the thing that i do not use windows and almost never touches the volume sliders :) but the idea is very cool indeed only wishing you the best of luck with it, we need more of that kind of innovation.
