Hey Boost! Do you know if that right shift is the same size as HHKB right shift?

To my eye, it doesn't look the same size as the HHKB. The HHKB R-shift is 1.75 to make room for a 1x1 Fn key. The 660C R-Shift is slightly longer at <snip>, which you can tell because the up arrow straddles the right edge of the Enter key.

Edit: I suck at math. Normal R-Shift = 2.75. Half a keycap is 0.5. R-Shift on the 660C is 2.25, same as L-Shift. Still different from HHKB though.

I'd be in for a blank set. I'm Colemak, so key inscriptions are kind of pointless for me. Unless...I could get a Colemak set. Now THAT would be cool!

The lack of blanks is the only thing preventing me from ordering 2 of these. If there were a hint of a keycap group buy that included blanks, I'd sign up for both.

From what I have heard, the right shift is 2.25 units, the same size as the left shift.

I've never even heard of a custom Topre group buy. Wouldn't we have to go through Leopold for something like that?

Please god..

Yep and there's the misery.  First OFF they have next to nothing in stock to sell you.  Second, dealing with Brian brings it's own special form of torture and angst  >:D .

Best bet try Taobao, they are probably more reliable and have vast quantities of stock compared to EK.  Imagine me, handing the GOLD star to Taobao, go figure  ??? .

^^ Same. Brian is a good egg. And he won't sell keyboards that aren't up to his standards, no matter what the demand is. And if we didn't have EK, chances are none of us in the U.S. would be enjoying Topre keyboards.

I can't think of another keyboard that comes in both type switches.  That would make side-by-side comparison of say, Cherry Browns and Topres quite easy.  ;)

No. But don't want to be help responsible if they don't drop keysets as I'm not 100% sure.

I've been looking at the reviews and pics of this board.  It has gold lettering on black keys.  This color combination is almost the same as having blanks to me!  I work in low light and gold lettering on black keys is unreadable.  I had a ducky that had that combination with the XM switches and because I had no caps to switch with, i basically gave it away to my brother.

All my current boards have what I would call "high contrast" keycaps.  Black letters on white caps or white letters on black caps.  As much as I want to get this board, without a cap switch, i probably will not use it.  On the flip-side, what are the best "stickers" I could use until some replacement caps become available?  Or is these stickers I see a complete waste of time! LOL

I would rather not burden you with this, but I would also hope that EK wouldn't cost more than this GB.  Depends on the timeframe as well.  I would want these within the next 2 months.

looks like they would go here, http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=leopold,compact

EK has stated that they will be carrying them, the only conditions under which the Group Buy should continue is if you can get it out to us any sooner than EK or if you can get it to us cheaper than EK.
In any case, keep us updated boost. Thanks.

Just my two cents,

I've heard the rumor too.  If I were you I would not continue with the GB.  We all really appreciate the effort but with EK stocking them, anyone, even international users could just as easily get them from EK.

This is just one GH member's opinion.

If we can get some type of time frame from EK on when they will be stocking that would be awesome!

Yeah, they dropped into a Reddit thread I created the other day promoting the group buy and said they would be carrying them.  They didn't really give a hard and fast time frame, and probably should have mentioned it here.

I'm still okay with going through with the GB if the majority wants to, because I'm sure you've already put some effort into this and I wouldn't mind paying a little extra to have it sooner rather than later.  If I'm in the minority then I'm okay with canning it too, because at least I'll have an outlet to buy it at some point.

They said their order was coming in this month.  How long from the time they receive it, to when they ship them out I can try to find out.

What's really going to suck is if this GB gets cancelled, EK stocks them, and they sell out before I can get my hands on one and have to wait another month to get mine  >:D
