It's not like Mx boards are cheap if you mod them. Say $100 for a poker and then maybe another $80 for a nice PBT set, it's $180 right there. Topre boards are only a bit more if you look at it.

Plus, most people tend to mod Mx boards (change stems, lube, sticker, change springs, have multiple cap sets, aluminum cases.....) which can become a sink hole of money quite quickly
