The professional sport route; professional skateboarder with a shoe deal, a Superbowl ad spot, and a Gleaming The Cube II movie deal. Nothin' fancy.

Sponsors: NIKE SB, Jamba Juice, Orville Redenbacher, and Chocolate Skateboards product for everything else. Plus movie royalties. I'm no stunt double  :))
I'm not sure what is your idea of a perfect world, but in my mind, athletes wouldn't serve as advertisements for ****ty shoes made by wage slaves.

The part about professional skateboarding was a satirical joke about the corporate side of the sport. C'mon, a Gleaming The Cube remake? A popcorn company as a sponsor? Yikes

Suicide bomber

Sure adds a whole new meaning to the concept of 'going out in a blaze of glory' or 'sacrificing one's life to make a difference' or 'having an impact on others' lives'

Haha. Not even the NSA has enough memory to run ZFS though. How many RAM would you need to store all people info on ZFS volumes. INSANE amounts.

I like the idea of making indie games. Tried to do an IT degree when I was 18 but I couldn't handle the maths. In retrospect I wish I'd gone to art college and put lots of time into game maker.

Now I'm a building services engineer and while I found the degree tedious the work is satisfying to me so I'm happy enough.

the only monsters of our society are other humans..

in many ways they're like dragons, powerful, almost untouchable,  yet they are made of flesh, their one weakness.

However they live in gated communities much like a castle or a layer..

hahahahhahaha...  I think people who wrote these fantasy stories were also talking about people..

Bears are monsters. Sharks are monsters too. Alligators are mini dragons. Let's have some Mountain Dew.

I am going off to college next fall and I am not sure of what I want to do...

I was thinking engineering, but I don't want to end up sitting in a cubicle every day for the rest of my life.

do engineering, but consider an mba after you get some industry experience..

go into semiconductor and math oriented fields..

There is no guarantee of jobs in anything else, because the stupid people flood those fields.

If you do math, you will ALWAYS have a job.. at the very worst, you can get paid 50,000-80,000  teaching highschool math..

I guess you always end up in a cubicle if your pay grade / position is too low. PhD candidates supposedly are "intellectualists" yet in the US you find PhD's in rooms like server rooms with no windows, 6 -10 in a small room, even if it's Stanford. WTF

For one, you have to keep up with those insecure ego competitive math nerds who always want to demonstrate that they are smarter than you. I couldn't take it.

On the upside, math really gets you anywhere, even into economics and stock trading. I cannot think of one field where math is not required. Yeah ok.. history and arts perhaps.

It's funny I did maths, applied maths and physics for my leaving certificate (Irish equivalent of high school) and did pretty well in all of them. The only bit I was bad at was calculus, which was optional on the test. Then I went to third level and in both courses I did it was nearly entirely calculus the whole way through. I could understand it alright just that I've got a sieve of a memory so I had to do everything 300 times to reproduce it in an exam situation. I was failing my final maths exam over and over every year until they split it up into 3 tests then I got 85% purely cos my ability to memorise it in smaller chunks was a lot better.
