Title: Purchasing Individual Keycaps
Post by: TechieWeirdo on Wed, 19 April 2017, 08:40:08
This may be a stupid question but anyways, I'm thinking about giving my friend a 4-Switch Switch Tester with her name on it, but I don't want to purchase a full set and just take out the keycaps for the name (Duh.), So I wanted to ask how can I obtain individual keycaps?

You might find someone with the letters you want leftover from a crap bag.

You could see about buying individual caps from signature plastics but AFAIK they now charge a premium for that now.

WASD keyboards might be an option I'm not familiar with their offerings but know they do custom sets.

Get a very cheap set of caps some whole sets can be had for cheap.

Find a dyesubber to make them.

3d printing?

Buy relegendable caps or blank caps and make your own letters.

Also you might want to tell us if profile, material, color etc matters.

Thanks very much for the options you gave me, I'll go with PMK DSA Relegendables

You could also try the marketplace or /r/mechmarket to see if you can grab the letters for cheap from someone who has a grab bag lying about.
