Just a question. Im new to groupbuys, looking at 3 atm. Can you explain how a private groupbuy typically works? I understand public where they go live and it's FCFS but I don't really understand the process for private ones as I haven't really seen them yet. Thanks!

You're at a party and all of the sudden 6 people are eating Chick-fil-A, but you didn't hear anything about a food run. That's a private gb.

Private group buy typically means friends only. You will not have a chance to buy it unless you are personal friends with the designer/runner.

Why would there be a public IC if he planned on running a private GB...? I'm not sure where this private GB idea came from but it doesn't make any sense.

Designers and group runners change their minds about things. If you want to see this in action just take a look at the MEME group buy. Eventually it was made into a private buy for friends only. You can read about it in this forum in the MEME thread.

A few questions.

When and where would we get the news upon its completion?

Where to order? Would it be group buy? Which seller?

Only a small amount of boards have shipped. Rose Gold parts have been been delayed, but no updates on why the other colors are taking so long to ship or why small batches are being sent to Zeal.

You're thinking about the XENO.

But to answer the initial question, Gok has been posting some updates on his instagram.

yeah I also think the same about that logo; the onl way to avoid it is use black on black or white on white

Will there be a WKL blocker version?
I probably won't be adding this option for a few reasons. First is that the design is catered towards my personal preferences and I am a WK user and I don't want to deal with an SKU for the machining and lastly, I don't like the look of uneven blockers (Dixie did good with the Bauer layout).

Gok has mentioned that this board will most likely be produced even if he has to do a private GB so if that's the case it is very important that the design fits his taste.
Personally I think it kind of looks like the Louis Vuitton logo and although I'm not a fan of LV, I think the design is really elegant and compliments the board well.

Manufacturing has finished and they will be sending me the package this morning. I guess I'll receive it sometime next week.
One thing to note is that they weren't able to produce the blue I want for the prototype since the colour mixing produced a lot of defects so they have substituted it with a very navy instead that they use for another production run. I'll be asking for a preproduction check after the gb closes as well colour swatches for the GB.

Ah, the blue in the renders was what caught my eye with this design.
But I'll definitely get it in any other colour.

Ah, unfortunate with the blue. How do you think you'll proceed with the blue? Go with the navy, or try to somehow work for something a bit more fitting to your tastes?

Provide them with a physical sample to colour match to and have the anodised sample swatch for the GB.
They were just unwilling to provide a bath for the specified colour since they wouldn't be able to reuse due to the delay between the prototype and full production.

White is pretty straightforward and people know what to expect but I'll see if they are willing to provide swatches for all the colours.

Come to think of it, you're right, I suppose there won't be too much variation for white. Hoping the white would be warm enough to pair with the coming Kuro Shiro!

The photos look promising. Too bad they can't make the blue one - it was one of the most appealing and unique ano colours anywhere. That black on black one, though. Looks dapper AF.

The plate looks very interesting - really curious how it will work in the end.

Any updates on prices / vendors ? Really really hope on a EU vendor / proxys - as i‘m tired of high shipping / taxes.

I'll need to talk to the vendor about having an EU proxy. May be possible because we will have a Chinese proxy since it didn't make sense shipping to the US and back to China.
