Yoooo, no disrespect to anyone, but lets stop offering more suggestions of what to add to this keyboard. He clearly is on the final prototype, and I think we all just are excited for it to be completed!!! Cannot wait to get my hands on one (finances willing :p )

Oooooooo much excited!
This is literally the only 75% I've ever been interested in.

Can you make a custom backplate for this with Tony Tony Chopper on it?
Custom orders can be a nightmare to deal with from a logistics perspective and I want to keep this group buy free of complications.

No no, if this is teh low_key_keyboards I'm thinking of, he has a business where he makes custom keyboard cases and keyboards.  He could cut me one out of acrylic and I can stick it on the back.  I've seen the pikachu tail cases he has on instagram:

PVD has a high failure rate so I'd like to keep the options down on it. Silver will be the default because its raw stainless steel.

Apologies if this has been noted somewhere, but what's the pricing going to be for the board? Is there a limit to the numbers in the GB?

I don't think there has been a price released to the public yet. As for the second question, the limit does not exist.

I think I've officially jumped down the rabbit hole for this keeb  :-[
The 7V is going to be my first build, and I just dropped $300+ on the Kuro Shiro keycaps (also made by gok) and a lemo cable
Haven't even bought my switches yet, or the case yet (obviously), so I'm honestly expecting this build to go $800+ for me, perhaps more

really hoping to get the board by August, but I also get that this type of thing can drag on... at least my patience is growing :p

edit: on another note, how do people add the hotlinked photos to their signature, I would really like to add some (kuro shiro and 7V) to my signature

Kudos to @gok101 for a plethora of rendering with various colors of keycaps. It helps folks imagine what the final build will look like and plan accordingly. Thanks!

That E-plate white with black weight render is so clean. That + the trim transition between the two pieces has me in for one for sure. Excellent design!

Same here, brother. I was pretty happy with my VA85 prebuilt keyboard, but once I saw this, I knew I just had to build it. This group buy is taking so long, though, that I've already bought the FoxLabs Key65 and a lot of keycaps, switches, stabs, lube and other stuff in the meanwhile.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but will this support RGB at all, and per-key, or general back-light? Thanks!

Also love the look of this board, really looking forward to it.

Based on the build log (2nd post), I don't think this will support any RGB. There are no RGB LEDs on the PCB or pads for RGB LEDs. There is single color per key LED though

This is what I read on the first post. Not sure if there have been any changes, but until someone says different, I think this will be your answer.

Will there be per key RGB or backlighting?
There won't be any RGB or backlighting provided. The only way to get backlighting would be to solder your own in-switch LEDS.

Not a lot of these bespoke custom boards support RGB per-key lighting. I don't think the community cares for it too much and to achieve it, you need to pre-solder SMD RGB lights into every switch position. Also, this can significantly limit the layout options for the boards. If you really need RGB backlighting, you should try some of the more mainstream boards, that are in constant production (you'll find more at kono.store and kbdfans.com for example).

Like the others have said, if you really, really need backlighting in this board, you can solder monocolored LEDs through your switches, but this is a pretty dreary task.

I don't know what your preferences are and I don't have holy pandas but I personally liked using zealios in a polycarb plate more than in brass.

I was talking more to the strength of polycarbonate, which I think is stronger than acrylic, correct? Asking because TX Keyboards warns against using Pandas with their acrylic plates:
Since the switch size is non-standard, the acrylic plate can be broken due to the pressure.

If that's what you are concerned about then it shouldn't be an issue since this is a PCB mounted board so there is less stress on the plate. If you still concerned, there will be aluminium plates available as an extra.

Hey gok, I'm eyeing a protective case for this board, any chance you've got any rough numbers for length, width, height, etc I don't want to buy a case too small...
The case I'm looking at buying (It's the TaehaTypes case ;D) has these measurements:

L: 16"/40.65cm
W: 7.5"/19cm
H: 2.36"/6cm

If you end up responding, thanks! Also good luck on finishing strong  :thumb:

Here you go

Hi there,

could you please send us dimensions of 7V?

One clacker requested sleeve for this keyboard

Thanks a lot!
It's 18mm high on the short side, 35mm on the tall side, 143mm deep and 322mm long.

Perhaps I missed it, but I didn't see it addressed:

Will there be a limited edition/special edition offered as well.. maybe along the lines of a stainless steel version?
Probably not.
