What do you guys think about trying to polish the aluminum plate to match the logo and weight? Do you think that's a bad idea?
Yes because anodising makes the surface harder-wearing and prevents the aluminium from oxidising. The plate files will be released so you can get stainless steel cut if you wanted it to match.

The black PVD weight and logo, only available as extras? Took a look around deskeys site, seems like this is the case. Just want to check if its a mistake.

I actually expected this. But that price though.. $160 for an extra weight... You can buy a decent kit with that price.

I feel like that the badge and weight should have been a set. Less SKU and hopefully less expensive.

I was thinking there will be a different kit for black PVD weight and logo from the start. Having extras are for those that want more options.

I was planning to get e-white with black PVD, as a kit. If the only option is to get black PVD as extras. I will not be getting then. Personal preference, I don't like waste kb parts lying around.

So Gok, you prefer PC plate or aluminum plate? Or does that really just depend on what switches you plan on using?

I'm curious about this as well. Especially since there is also a PC flex plate. I for sure want an aluminum as well but can't decide between the other 2 pc plates. Any thoughts?

really love how this board looks but making someone in this hard time to pay $195 for pvd logo and weight is too much. Can you change this to and upgrade option?

He isn’t making anyone do anything.

The prices are set based on the options available. Making it an upgrade rather than an extra introduces more complexity and impacts more than just the price for the PVD weight. There is a whole supply chain and logistics to consider.

It isn’t going to change on the day the GB goes live, it’s been in the works for a long time.

For those who have participated in group buys before, is it generally okay to NOT get a spare PCB? Or is it recommended to get a spare with your purchase?

Generally it is recommended in case anything goes wrong down the line. Without a spare, you risk the board becoming a paper weight if you spill anything on it etc.

If it used some kind of readily available PCB then it would be fine but because this is unique, I recommend getting one.
Like someone else mentioned, if the PCB fails then you're left with a beautiful paperweight.

Does the poron plate go on top of the switches or below?  I want to order 2 PCBs and plates but I noticed you cant order an extra poron on NovelKeys.

It has the same cutouts as the plate, so it goes between the plate and the PCB.

gok has said that the extra plates come with foam

Finally, I was waiting for this GB to go live since I missed out on the Sat75. My reminder went off at midnight and I got trigger happy and bought the grey version. I then realized I should have bought the extra PCB and plate. Now, I have to place another order for them  :'(

I personally got blue + SS. Been in love with that color way since i saw the IC almost a year ago. I do wish we could buy separate foam insert since i planned on getting a carbon fibre plate cut in the future.

It's really annoying how on mykeyboard.eu you can't select the colour of the keyboard that you want similarly to how you can on NovelKeys.

When you go to pay & shipping you can put instructions - "Tell us anything we should know when delivering your order."
It's worrisome but I'm hoping they don't f*** up the order since it's not an automated process on keyboard colour selections.

Gok,

Could you please clarify if the blue case will be what you had originally shown in renders? The prototype blue that you had received, you had said was too dark and would not be accurate for production run, yet the latest renders and photos of blue case on the vendor websites all show a navy blue case close to the prototype you had received and not the brighter blue that is closer to Striker.

Thank you and great work! Glad we are finally here  :thumb:

Should be around the same as thr latest renders included in the gb pages which is darker than the render with striker but lighter and more saturated than the prototype.

The reference Pantone will be Poseidon.

Blue because I'm planning on using it with 3000SAT. Also have GMK Matrix-01 on the way for something with a bit more colour.

Not yet. Hopefully the final protos will arrive soon and we can get them out to some streamers. I find it kind of pointless if there isn't a point of reference for the test and somebody like Taeha who has done a lot of different builds and tests would be able to provide a better idea.

Yeah, it's pretty steep but it was hard enough to even have a PVD option after they found that they had to rework the proto weight 3x before it was to an acceptable standard.

Do you mean how heavy or what the material is?
The weight will remain largely the same but it will be PVD brass. The PVD logo will remain as stainless steel.
