Title: How thick are SP DSA PBT Blank keys?
Post by: iamtootallforthis on Sun, 15 June 2014, 21:04:57: I am wondering because I am looking into buying them but would like to know how thickness of the keys. I am sorry if this has been asked before.

As far as I know, all dsa caps are made by SP

Would you be able to post a picture of the thickness? Sorry if this is bothersome but I haven't been able to find any other relatively inexpensive PBT blanks that I can get in multiple colors for my WASD V2 TKL.

Thanks and I believe I found what I was looking for elsewhere just had to look a lot harder.

apart from classifieds, sp is the only place that makes dsa..

that requires new molds. not a small expense. not as bad as a sculpted set, but still:

1.25x
1.5x
1.75x
2x
2.25x
2.75x
6.25x

So there's not actually any alternative. The keys are fine, thicker than DCS, but not the thickest. SA is really thick instead.

My guess is that the spacebar is ABS instead of PBT (to prevent warping issue during production) so they just make it thicker to keep the feel consistent.

check out the base blank sets on pmk site and there's a note about it.

I've to say the build quality of DSA PBT blank keys are not very decent. They ain't even in a straight line if you look from above after setting them on keyboard. Unfortunately I'm the one that can't bear that so I ended up selling them in classified. :mad:

Sorry it was a bit off-topic. DSA blank keys are as thin as pictures above. :))

Post by: Eszett on Sat, 30 May 2015, 12:18:10: SP DSA are a just a tiny little bit thicker than thin Filco ABS caps. But SP DSA are still really thin compared to IMSTO PBTs (or Poker PBTs).

A good way to doctument this are either pictures, or numbers. But I have no a caliper gauge at my fingertips.
