the proposition is, yea we could buy a faster gpu, buh why ?.. why am I paying them to play their game, they should be Paying us for all the labor.
Alot of the products now feel like they fall along this line.

yeah I've been in a tech lull for a while now, mostly just buying stuff that I need. I think I will take the plunge on a PS5 though. great living room console and I feel like it'll just be a great experience, definitely better than spending $500 on a GPU for me

I managed to throw my portable music player into a flushed toilet and it's dead (white screen), that was bought in July 2019 and the only tech I've bought since is a phone that's still in China.
I think my next purchase will be a freezer as mine was making a weird tapping noise yesterday (turned if off and on again and it stopped...) - does that count?

Old tech become too old tech? Prices sometimes just hit a bottom when stuff becomes so old its just replacement parts and there's no real incentive for one person to buy an old chip or slightly older chip, they just get the part they need to replace.
Or something something garbage, slightly newer garbage still garbage, not charging more or less for either.

The CPU prices have bottomed out in price because their value is not in the CPU but the motherboard they go into.
There's tons of those CPUs but few remaining boards and even fewer people looking to invest in upgrading those old systems. Why are they the same price, demand is probably the same and they require the same shelf space.

The single reason Tp4 can fathom is if someone doesn't know how to or want to delid a 3770k, he might get a 2700k, but , this person is probably not going to push the overclock anyway, so the 3770k will still be faster out of the box... AND AND you get pcie Gen 3 which is a BIG deal for storage.

Yeah but PS5 shiny and should run on 4k pretty good. the ps3 isn't old enough to be vintage cool yet.

it is vintage cool if you get the launch editions and play ps2 / ps1 on it.
Ps5 also only does cheater 4k, it's a gimmick.

easy fix, you just need new Tantalum capacitors, fun mod, it looks really cool and cybrpunk as well.
the old ones are surface mount electrolytic caps which burn out.

I haven't bought a ton of stuff this year however ~probably less than most years in the past. I just have so much stuff it is hard to manage as it is... I do have room for another keyboard box however =p
I bought some Mt. Bike gear (replacing worn items .. Riding glasses, new grips / bars (the bars I just didn't like..so I'm trying something else and a few other bit and pieces to keep things running. In addition when I went on vacation (1st since 2019 for obvious reasons?) I bought a wrist watch and some clothes that I needed for local conditions (colder than I expected in Seattle when we went a few months ago) bought a Carhartt hat and sweatshirt.)

Tp4 does not recommend any Jpy products, their area is currently experiencing severe rad1ologi(cal contamination. fvkv5hima isn't any where near fixed/cleaned up. 3000% uptick in (hildhood thyr0id cancers. Basically, they have crazy lvl of h0t partic1es right now on the surface / in the air, so if you'd imagine, they got a plastic injection machine with an air inlet, click click pssssst, well now you've shot hot particles into your keycaps, annnnnd it's right on your desk. packaging/food/ etc /etc

yes, also dual_wield. these are not stationary like the arcade version, you can pick these up and hold them.

AMD and Nvidia bought extras to try and catch up so they are over stocked and it couldn't be at a worse time for them.
You have the new Nvidia cards coming (4090 in December), so they have far too much stock they need to clear out or it will hurt that rollout, you also had Intel enter the market, no matter how bad those cards may be, it's competition from a company who can typically get things right if they want. Once there was an abundance, scalpers got shut out. You also had crypto crash, though that usually only accounts for 10%.
Another thing that happened is the economy, companies are pulling back, this is a big one as it meant A.I. research startups, who were spending investor money, had to reign in expenses. They were well funded and had the right contacts. I know everyone wants to blame crypto but it's always been a bit of a scapegoat. A.I. research is so hot that it's what pushed Intel to get back into GPUs. Also, contrary to popular belief, mining is still profitable for the moment.

Not bored of anything, looking for good deal, my strategy is buy Good -enough 2-3yr old GPU and it is good workhorse, then wait 2-3 year and repeat
No new game either, so more performance !
