Your favourite Keycap sets - material/profile/design
« on: Wed, 08 March 2017, 18:28:13 »
Hey guys!

Another round of, what is your favourite keycap sets: Let me hear your opinion!

I personally am a great fan of PBT and cherry caps.
Which therefore is also my favourite profile. RF PBT caps come close second tough.
(ps: we need to get the new gmk designs in pbt!)

Design wise I think my favourite is SA Hack'd by Geeks, which I unfortunately will never be able to aquire if there is no new GB happening.

What's yours?

GMK ABS

The pink keycaps that came on my realforce.

I don't want GMK to make PBT keycaps. Just yell at BSP to get their **** together, since they own the tooling for it.

Right now I'm enjoying GMK.  Really, I want them as PBT, though.  I've still got OEM PBT caps on my numpad and while thick ABS is good, I still seem to prefer PBT a bit more.

GMK doesn't have the tools to make PBT caps (unless something has changed)

Hence my BSP comment.

GMK could have the molds made but they likely don't have a lot of incentive to do it when they're probably plenty busy with ABS caps already.

I was a big fan of DSA PBT. However ever since I got my SA Nantucket Selectric I've been loving it! I'm hoping to try PBT SA sometime.

I like PBT just because I'm greatly worried about my keycaps shining over time. Yes...I've read all the threads about how long it takes to actually shine, but there's that nagging thought that's always in the back of mind. I am however willing to compromise my ideals when it comes to shining SA keycaps hehe.

PBT requires different tooling entirely. The old tooling for ABS was bought by GMK, but the PBT tooling was not.

Red Alert. I have it in Cherry, Dyesub PBT, and OEM. ABS Cherry is my favorite, but I like not having to worry about overusing/shining PBT.
