will there be a toad variation of this?frog mini will be
PLATE - A5052-H32 , BRASS
Will there be a 60% with the similar design? I would love a 60% with design elements translated from frog or even the F1-8X.

hi geon, i can't wait!Well, if there's a good way, share it to me.
i am worried resellers are going to take interest in the frog, and bots will become an issue when restocks happen. hopefully over time this won't be an issue, but the first few restocks might be frustrating for enthusiasts. will swagkeys do anything to prevent this from happening?
Taking into account you are offering ISO, having a EU Vendor would be a must, or have Swagkeys use a proxy country in EU.Why do you guys have to pay twice as much?
Buying from Swagkeys and importing it to EU, for most countries means paying 2x the price.
But the board looks amazing.
Why do you guys have to pay twice as much?
How much import fee and tax do you pay for the $300 keyboard? Aren't fees the same for vendors? Why do you guys have to pay twice as much?
Likely import fees, taxes, shipping, and other stuff that you might get charged

I will come up with yet another calculation. It's likely that I won't be able to join round 1 so let's assume the board is $300 + $50 pcb + $50 shipping to Germany that's a $400 purchase. After arriving in Germany it gets slapped on a 19% tax which is about $75 and on top of that a handling fee. DHL takes around 6€ last time I imported, FedEx takes around 16€ or so. So that $300 keyboard is easily around $500 after everything is said and done.
It sounds like following:
EU End user buying from EU vendor:
- EU Vendor Price
- EU-EU Shipping Price
- EU VAT Price on (EU Vendor Price)
EU End user buying from non EU vendor:
- non-EU Vendor Price
- non-EU Shipping Price
- EU Import Fee on (non-EU Vendor Price + non-EU shipping price)
- EU VAT Fee on (non-EU Vendor Price + non-EU shipping price)
I have further questions to people from EU.
Since the EU vendor have higher cost of shipping fee from the manufacturer, EU vendor price will be more expensive.
If non-EU vendor price is $300 and EU vendor price is $400, then is buying from EU vendor still cheaper?
It sounds like following:
EU End user buying from EU vendor:

You can check from past GBs even low quantity GBs, and the price is never like that. If the board is 300$ on non-EU vendor, its normally 300€.
The name of the game is shipping. You pay VAT on shipping when importing so 100 usd shipping adds 120-125 to price (VAT is usually betwen 20% and 25%).
A 300 dollar board + 100 dollar shipping is 400. Times 1.25 for VAT (Sweden has high VAT) is 500 and then you add an extra 20 for customs clearance so 520 final price. So yes, paying a vendor 400 with maybe 30 usd shipping would still save me 90usd.
A vendor has cheaper shipping per unit and spreads the clearance fee (though generally a higher clearance fee) between multiple orders.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification.
So, it looks like about $30 - 80 difference if there were just a EU vendor.
Let me know if the below calculation is wrong.
EU End user buying from EU vendor:Total: $365 + $30 + $60 = $455
- EU Vendor Price: $365
- EU-EU Shipping Price: $30
- EU VAT Price on (EU Vendor Price): $300 * 20% = $60
EU End user buying from non EU vendor:Total: $300 + $100 + $80 + $25 = $505
- non-EU Vendor Price: $300
- non-EU Shipping Price: $100
- EU Import Fee on (non-EU Vendor Price + non-EU shipping price): $0 according to my search from http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/customs/customs_duties/tariff_aspects/customs_tariff/index_en.htm (http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/customs/customs_duties/tariff_aspects/customs_tariff/index_en.htm)
- EU VAT Fee on (non-EU Vendor Price + non-EU shipping price): ($300 + $100) * 20% = $80
- EU Custom Handling Fee: $25
I'm not 100% sure on how the calculation is on the side of the EU vendor, but I can assure you the difference is not 80 dollars.

You said the $300 non EU vendor and 300 euro EU vendor.
300 euro roughly equals to 365 USD.
What other costs am I missing?
EU Import Fee on (non-EU Vendor Price + non-EU shipping price): $0 according to my search
Understood. Sounds like EU vendors are reducing the VAT for EU customers with the cost of bulk shipment cost.
This is interesting because I've seen some vendors in US charge sales tax, but some doesn't.
QuoteEU Import Fee on (non-EU Vendor Price + non-EU shipping price): $0 according to my search
This would not be correct. A commercial shipment (buying something online) will not pay import fees (only VAT) if its value (that includes shipping paid) is under 150 EUR. For anything above 150 is where things get ugly: one would pay VAT and Import Taxes. While the exact percentages for VAT and Import Tax vary from country to country, the 150 EUR value to charge import tax is the same for all EU.
One can always be lucky and not getting they package checked and thus avoiding paying anything, in my experience those cases are not the norm and only a few lower value items fly under the radar.

Its not the same in all EU, its 22 euro for Portugal for example, and it is going to change to 0 euro soon.

Also because they are paying import taxes based on the manufacturer price and not the retail price.

There is no import tax / zoll for keyboard parts tho
Please give EU proxy Geon
+1 for EU :)
As an EU customer: I'd rather buy from a proxy shop in the EU instead of oversea, because it's clear what I pay.
+1 for EU vendor please!
Another EU customer here. I would also highly appreciate a EU vendor.
Nevertheless, super relaxing to see one might actually get a board of this quality. Excited for purple!
+1 for EU vendor please!
Only 3~4 of waiting for EU Customers? Great to hear! Thanks geon.
I will think about EU vendor again after 3~4 months of sales from Korean vendor to EU.

@geonworks Please keep in mind that direct sales from Korea vendor to EU won't necessarily be relevant, some of the EU folk won't order from non-EU vendors, imports and taxes being a hassle in some countries.

+1 for EU proxy.
The Frog is meant to be an affordable board for new enthusiasts and the price just doesn't reflect that after shipping from Korea, import duties and VAT.
Guys buying domestically or whatever doesn’t magically exempt you from paying taxesYeah, that's right. Proxy doesnt mean you pay same amount, vat is added anyway. I dont see the point of having proxies...

Sorry I didn’t go far enough back to see the explanations. Paying tax twice seems silly, unlucky to be in EU I guess. Then you are clearly not an EU customer.Guys buying domestically or whatever doesn’t magically exempt you from paying taxesYeah, that's right. Proxy doesnt mean you pay same amount, vat is added anyway. I dont see the point of having proxies...
People think it's about the VAT and it's not, we already know that we will pay that on a EU vendor anyways, the convinience of having an EU proxy is specially not dealing with other extra taxes or charges some companies ''magically'' add to the mix with the excuse of "administrative expenses" or something like that, companies like DHL, UPS and others are so scummy when you receive a package from ASIA or USA to EU, they will do whatever they want to make you pay extra money because If you don't comply, you won't get the package.
Also the risk of losing the package during traveling is minimized if you have a proxy in EU, no extra charges, no major risks of losing the package... It's not always about saving money.
And the shipping it's not the same, we are individual customers buying 1 maybe 2 products, where as Mykeboard.eu (for example) is a company buying a product in bulk, so they can make deals with courier companies to get shipping discounts or something like that.
I rather pay 14€ to a EU proxy instead of 50€ to a Korean proxy.
will there be a toad variation of this?I would love to see a version with the tkl section replaced by a numpad, similar to m0lly.
Chiming in the topic of EU vendor. AFAIK when working with vendor, the vendor get some cut/incentive for being the vendor of the product. In this case anyone know whether it'll come from the board maker giving lower price to the vendor or it'll come from the added price the vendor charge to the buyer? If I remember correctly Geon previously shared the comparison of the production cost and the price he gonna selling the board, and he's operating at thin margin. Might be one of reason why no vendor (at least for several first runs).
Proxy doesnt mean you pay same amount, vat is added anyway. I dont see the point of having proxies...The point is not having to deal with customs paperwork yourself (in some cases even having to go physically somewhere for this because beaurocracy and paper-pushers) and usually some lower taxes (afaik Germany and some other countries have a lower customs tax for computer parts than others, which means the added cost to the keyboard itself will be lower compared to paying the tax in your own country).

This is pretty TKL case, I wish there was hot swap rgb pcb for it.

Check the PCB options, there seems to be hotswap options, and options with RGB too. (Unless I am misinterpreting something)
I am so curious about which keysets might go with the green one.GMK British Racing Green :)
Camping? 9009? Something with soft pink? I have a weird premonition that even DSS Late Harvest may look okay on it.

GMK Botanical would work well. Maybe CRP green hebrew?
Also, good eye. DSS Late harvest has earthy tones. It would go well with green

If you read on the spacebars in the "Supported layouts" picture it says that all hotswap pcbs have rgb and underglow support.
ePBT Soju would also be a good set for the Green Frog.
Have the plate specifications been released? Because I might want to order an aftermarket plate. You meant plate file?
Hi Geon,ETA 2~3weeks. And in the case of SK, it will be sold separately at Swagkeys Korean store.
If one manages to order one of the Frog TKL keyboards in mid June.
How many days do you expect for it to take for delivery in SK, since it's in stock?

50a and 80a - which one is softer?

Hi geon, what is your favourite pepe emote?[attachimg=1]
I cannot wait for that navy blue. I suspect this board will be quick to sell out each month. I hope I can get lucky, if not I can be patient.i hope so

Yo Geon are you gonna release more colours in the future? Like E-white for example.

I would love a 60% with design elements translated from frog or even the F1-8X.Idk if any has already said this, but there is a frog mini which is planned to go on sale next year after frog tkl. It is a 60 and there are pictures and more info on the discord and here:

Where is it sold to Europe?
When is the next sale? it says it's every month hmm....Geon said on Discord, next sale will be announced on the 20th.
Hey!
I know I am late for the party, but when will the Frog be in-stock again? Is there some sort of newsletter I can subscribe to?
Every month I'm trying to buy one and every month its a total failure. It takes around 12 seconds and its all gone.
This is actually a really bad situation, as each month around 200-300 units is released and each month loads of people keep buying it and cannot do it.
Looking at around 2-3K of interested buyers, you won't be able to buy for next 6 months at least...
Then lots of those are flipped on market for twice the price.
I would rather to have a GB with 12 months turnaround, knowing that I paid for one and will get in 12 months, then being disappointed every f**ing month...
Madness...

I really hope that it becomes available through UK or EU vendors. You have to pay nearly double the price for the board from swagkeys :-(

300 usd for the case plus about 45 usd for the pcb
plus extra pcbs and plates (everyone buys this)
rubber toadpoles or what are they called
extra feet
minimum 410 including delivery
add 20 vat plus additional taxes
total: more than 500 usd
all this for a basic keyboard that has no beauty, it's just a trivial rectangle made of aluminium

This is how much it'd cost me but it could be more or less for other EU customers. In spite of the extra charges, I am very tempted to get one in the Jan drop :))
